RWJC
Jets Rumors: Nikolaj Ehlers Trade Chatter Heating Up Michael DeRosa Wednesday, June 05, 2024 The Winnipeg Jets are one of the clubs to watch extremely closely this offseason. They not only have several free agents, but star winger Nikolaj Ehlers has been the subject of trade chatter. The skilled forward is entering the final season of his deal, and there has been a lot of speculation about a potential move centering around him. Now, more fuel has been added to that fire big time. According to NHL insider David Pagnotta, Ehlers has not requested a trade, but he would welcome a change of scenery. In addition, Pagnotta also reported that Ehlers is not open to signing a contract extension, and that is why the Jets are shopping him. With this big update, it is clear that Ehlers is a player to watch incredibly closely during the summer. If he is truly unwilling to sign an extension, the Jets ultimately have no choice but to trade him. He is too valuable of an asset to lose for nothing. The Jets could get themselves a pretty nice return for him, as he is a top-six winger who is coming off of another strong season. Ehlers, 28, appeared in 82 games this season with the Jets, where he had 25 goals to go along with 61 points and a plus-27 rating. Overall, it was another successful season for the nine-year veteran, and a plethora of teams could use his production in their lineups right now. We will need to wait and see what happens with Ehlers during the offseason from here, but a trade certainly seems to be on the way. https://www.nhltraderumors.me/2024/06/jets-rumors-nikolaj-ehlers-trade.html
NoCupSyndrome
Disappears in the playoffs unfortunately, not a good fit for the Canucks in my view

JeremyCuddles
Mikheyev and a 3rd. If he fails with Petey, well. We get out from under Mik a year sooner since Ehlers expires at the end of 24/25 season.

MeanSeanBean
I'd 100% on board taking a run at him if the price makes sense.

Trebreh
if we can't get Neycash, he should be the next target. Hronek + Mikheyv for Ehlers.

Necas scored 4 goals in 11 games is these playoffs. Coincidentally, that is the same number of goals Ehlers has scored in the postseason for his career (37 games). HKSR
I'd take Necas over Ehlers.

Maybe, could see the Jets asking for a young NHL player tbh, they'd have to wait on a pick/prospect depending on who the prospect is They did well getting Vilardi in the Dubois trade for example
wai_lai416
my bet is we end up with no one of significance.. don't see us having any trade chips for necas.. they 100% don't want a hronek... guentzel prolly too rich on july 1st.. we prolly be looking at the likes of monahan drouin maybe toffoli type players if they don't get re-sign.. or maybe grab a max domi or something. I'd be fine with any of those players on a shorter term deal tbh

Captain insano
Guys been injury prone his whole career def concerning, he played all 82 last year but hasn’t played a full season since 17/18 before that…. For that reason I’m out
DownUndaCanuck
Big cap hit for a 20G 60P small player to be fair. Trade would have to involve Mikheyev going back but then we'd have to give some serious value back. Hronek + Mikheyev for Ehlers and some sort of cap back (or not if they're happy) or we retain a bit on Mikheyev. Then we splash and sign Demelo ironically or Pesce if we can afford it to play with Hughes. Suter - Miller - Boeser Hoglander - Petey - Ehlers Garland - Blueger - Joshua Podkolzin - Aman - PDG Hughes - Demelo Zadorov - Myers Soucy - Juulsen Looks like a worse team to be honest. I'd rather we just keep Hronek and roll rubbish wingers around. That 2nd line needs a big man, Joshua would be an interesting swap with Hoglander. Boudrias
Edler sis a great regular season player. I question his game in heavier cup play.

I don’t know why, but I just have a feeling Ehlers would be insane with Petey. Put them with a solid big boy and we have our second 1st line.
