There doesn't seem to be much point in rehashing the Jan 6th insurrection almost 4 years after the fact, but the Office of the Inspector General has determined that the organizers of the "Save America" rally that preceded the attack on the Capitol, deliberately withheld critical information that would have affected the level of security in place on that day....

At the same time, evidence reviewed by the OIG found that WFAF expected Trump to call for a march.

"POTUS expectations are intimate and then send everyone over to the Capitol," White House liaison texted a WFAF contractor on Jan. 3, according to the report.

"This stays only between us, we are having a second stage at the Supreme Court again after the ellipse. POTUS is going to have us march there/the Capitol ... It can also not get out about the march because I will be in trouble with the national park service and all the agencies but POTUS is going to just call for it 'unexpectedly,'" a WFAF representative texted on Jan. 4 to MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, who was a potential speaker at the event.

However, a park ranger said that the WFAF representative "was just adamant there was gonna be no march," according to the report.

Shown the text messages during the OIG investigation, a permit specialist involved in the planning process came to the conclusion that the WFAF lied in the process of obtaining their permit.

Long story short, if the WFAF had told the truth about Trump's plan to call for a march to the Capitol, the NPS would have ensured there was extra security in place. For reasons known only to the organizers, (and possibly Trump's inner circle) they wanted this information to be kept from the people responsible for ensuring the safety of the people who work there.

But apparently we're the bad guys for pointing out Trump's Nazi beliefs.

Yeah, you're not allowed to compare Trump to a Nazi, even when he directly quotes the biggest Nazi of all....

.....but the complainers are allowed to pretend that Justin Trudeau is Fidel Castro's Commie illegitimate son, all because of a stupid conspiracy theory. :classic_rolleyes:

At least the Justin one is a bit funny.

Trumps open white nationalism should bother more people than it does.

Current US Democrats remind me a lot of the early 2000s Republicans.

War machine in bed with military industrial complex? Used to be Bush Republicans, now it's the Democrats.

Pro-censorship and willing to call Americans domestic terrorists for having different views? Used to be Republicans, now Democrats.

The left has lost it's way for me. It was always supposed to be a party of the working man/woman, and I feel that it was taken over by the University/College campuses.

Now having said all that, I do find a lot of Republican nominees/politicians still to be very unattractive.

Nikki Haley is pretty much a carbon copy of Hillary Clinton. You can pretty much add 100,000 innocent people dead around the world for every year that Nikki Haley gets in the office.

Chris Christie has zero appeal to me.

Vivek is saying everything that nobody in mainstream media wants to hear and it's extremely entertaining. He's got no chance of winning and he doesn't have all his policies well thought through yet.

DeSantis is just so incredibly plain.

On the Democrat side, Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard are the only ones that have resonated with me. I have probably missed a lot of interesting ones, but Bidden and Clintons have completely taken that party sideways.

While Trump was great for calling out the Washington establishment and shining a light on a lot of issues that would never otherwise get the spotlight, his biggest damage is the fact that Democrats completely abandoned their normal candidates and pushed the NeoCons to the top.

Anyways, just having browsed the last two pages, I see that this forum is similar to the politics thread on the old forum: an echo chamber.

If you stick around, it may be less of an echo chamber?

Are you Canadian?

Yes sir!

I am open to hearing more about the current Democrats outside of Biden and Clintons. For example hearing Tulsi Gabbard speak was a real eye opener.

She has since left the party, but I'd love to find current Democrats that share her view:

- For the environment

- Against regime changes wars

- For meritocracy based policies

Hence, my signature.

People just want their dogma to be reaffirmed over and over.  Even if it's by opinion articles that don't tell the entire story.  Just the parts that go along with the current accepted narrative.

Thanks,

I was curious due to you saying the left had lost it's way for you. The American left.

Stick around.

You will find people push back and sometimes it's a lot of similar opinions but in the end if you are debating in good faith then people will be civil.

If not there is always an ignore button, I hear.

You seem to have a lot of opinions and interest. There are plenty of good minds in here. Share you knowledge and soak up some.
