Didn't our government just do the same thing with every type of food. I paid over 40 bucks of tax for 160 worth of food. Where does all that tax money go, the god Gaia?

There you go with numbers again.   You've got some truly number centric people on here that will be hesitant to believe you paid over 25% tax on food.

Not that I know of. Inflation was going to happen anyway because of the aftermath of Covid, the Russia/Ukraine war, and everything else currently happening in the world.

What food did you buy to create a 25% tax on food?

Alot of christmas stuff and some groceries. Boxes of Chocolates as gifts must have been those non essential items to make it so high. I got a ham, a few steaks, it must be those products that they tax so much, eating meats bad, m'kay.

I also got a $100 gift card for someone but i can only assume they taxed the shit out of that, since its the season for taking form us and giving to Ukraine. The bill was 300 in total with over 40 bucks in taxes while we produce less than 2% of the worlds carbon emissions. This government is a s crooked as they come.

What high school did you go to? They ran on Socialist and Nationalist policies since their economy was crippled after WW1. Socialism doesn't always mean rainbows and skittles commercials, sometimes it means forced labour camps.

You have to realise by now just saying "socialist and nationalist" policies without actually saying what those policies are is not going to fly with most people in this thread. We're too smart for such blanket statements

I've asked you several times what those policies are only to see you dodge the question over and over and over. I've tried to see your perspective. I've tried to give you a platform to present your case. Unfortunately, based on your lack of response, I can only assume at this point you don't know the answer to what policies in schools are actually socialist/nationalist/marxist/maoist/Antifa. I can only assume this because you've given me nothing else to go on other than a fascination for a documentary that's not even about the school system over here.

Oh so it's $300 now instead of $160. So you lied then. lol

I think we're done with this conversation. If you can't even be truthful about your goddamn shopping bill, then I can't really trust whatever else you have to say.

Just please, don't go off the deep end. I hate to see people fall to right wing propaganda in believing the left is some far left extremist whatever. I'm sure there's some loonies out there, but the school system? Really?

I am not saying I agree, but I think immigration is a huge one, where the far left applies pressure on the Dem party.....aka open policies, deportation, sanctuary cities, IMO, the further left you move the harder the support is. Of course this upsets alot of people who are centralists and anyone to the right.

The creation of sanctuary cities in the early 80s was led by churches and faith-based groups not the left. Asylum seekers were arriving from El Salvador and Guatemala where more than 75,000 (El Salvador) and 200,000 (Guatemala) civilians were killed in civil wars and the US government refused to grant asylum to people from these countries and was returning them. I don’t typically think of church-goers as lefties.

John Fife, a minister and movement leader, famously wrote in a letter to Attorney General William Smith: "the South-side United Presbyterian Church will publicly violate the Immigration and Nationality Act by allowing sanctuary in its church for those from Central America."

Maybe, but that doesn't explain what it has to do with schools and universities....

He's not going to explain it. He has yet to explain it. I doubt even he knows. He apparently doesn't need logical reasoning to believe things.

Except the history books tell a different tale.  Nazi German was socialist like America is.  Some of the first people to be locked up were communists, socialists, and trade unionists.  Hardly the mark of a socialist party.  The Nazis were also aligned with rightwing parties during the Weimar Republic.  Again, hardly the mark of a socialist part when socialist parties existed and were elected during the Weimar republic.  Which parties did conservative elites in Germany at the time give their support to?  Certainly not a socialist party.

War production kinda muddies the waters, but it was German Corporations that did the work and even competed against each other for designs.  Ferdinand Porsche's tank designs for example.

Evolution is a funny thing........what once was, is now no more

It is the left that beats the drum on deportation of these cities.....meaning no sending back

Things have changed and Trump is proof...............IMO, the religious right is now very xenophobic

These are the people that became the professors.

How many professors do you know? I know several, since I work at a college. Not a communist in the bunch.

In other words, you don't know WTF you're talking about.

You're "proof" is a small video about an extremist student organization from 1970? That's it? Nevermind the rest of the school system, you're just focusing on a small group not even 0.01% of the entire school system who are likely all in their 70's and retired or dead?

So much culture war garbage from Benny Shabibo and Kermit Pete its no wonder he thinks Universities are some Commie hotbed.  Maybe if Conservatives weren't such prudes and full of bigoted ideas, they'd have a chance.

None. How many of them prefer socialism to capitalism though?

Are you assuming someone's gender?  How do you know they are a "he"?   Could be a ze, zen, zip, zon, gargoyle, they, it, that.  Maybe educate yourself a little.   Lol

Comedians won't even do shows at universities anymore because it has become such a far left politically correct cesspool.  The prudes and the bigots are on the left, looking to ban anything that makes them uncomfortable

Okay, so maybe Rob's not a he? I'll assume Rob's not a he from now on then. Good point.

I'll assume you're not a he either since you seem adamant on that. Can't be caught doing that.

Uhhhh....GST and PST don't get applied on a sliding scale, based on the type of groceries you buy....

Oh the book thing again....mice of men, Huckleberry Finn, Dr Seuss

Remember the other day when I posted a few pages out of one of the books the GOP were able to get off the shelves and out of the hands of 12 and 13 year olds?  I was flagged and penalized because I posted pornographic material lol.  Whoops

I've said before that you have every right to believe whatever you want to believe.   I have noticed that things can go south when you try to convince others to believe them too.

I don't believe a lot of what you say,  which is also my right.  I don't believe that meat is taxed, that Ukraine has any bearing on our current tax structure (though yes, this whole thing is going to cost us a lot of money), or that the carbon tax is charged for anything but fossil fuels and to the corporations that heavily use them.

I am very much beginning to believe that many of the dots you use to connect things are completely imaginary and no such connections really exist.

Oh, and no tax on gift cards.   Taxes will come later though, as soon as the recipient goes to buy something.

At the end of the day, it's just people with extreme ideas, but can't provide any logic or much of anything to back up those ideas.

Of course, they're too bull-headed to see where they've gone wrong. Instead, they probably think we're all "leftist idiots" or something along those lines.

There's also the possibility that they're trolling and don't even believe what they claim to believe. At least it helps us confirm what we believe I guess?
