Gurn
https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/kansas-constitution-does-not-include-a-right-to-vote-state-supreme-court-majority-says/ar-BB1nq1P1?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=66fc75518ef7472aa93e1a6ae4a7be63&ei=38 "The Kansas Supreme Court offered a mixed bag in a ruling Friday that combined several challenges to a 2021 election law, siding with state officials on one provision, reviving challenges to others and offering the possibility that at least one will be halted before this year's general election. But it was the ballot signature verification measure's majority opinion — which stated there is no right to vote enshrined in the Kansas Constitution's Bill of Rights — that drew fiery dissent from three of the court's seven justices. ------------------------------------ mal

the destroyer of worlds
Tell us where in the US or even Canada you can just show up to a polling station without any ID, vote, and your vote is counted. In reality, every jurisdiction has a list of valid forms of ID. In some jurisdictions you can cast a provisional vote with it counting if you can later produce identification. This whole voter ID thingy is nothing but bs. If a specific ID is required, then it should be free and easy to get. If you work 9 to 5 Monday to Friday, it should be easy for you to get. The trick is that the same folks who push the voter ID laws are also folks who won't make it easily acquired. They would force folks living in Abbotsford to travel into Surrey on a week day to get the ID. Pretty hard if you don't drive. 1

Absolutely, both the US and Canada know exactly who their citizens are and its all checked and verified. It has nothing to do with election security.
the destroyer of worlds
It's a law that goes back to the States founding and has been modified a number of times. TRUMP is a convicted felon and could qualify for removal from the WA ballot. Not like this will really matter though. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/politics/plot-twist-for-trump-wa-has-a-law-against-felons-running-for-office/ Plot twist: WA has a law against felons running for office
PureQuickness
I'd just like to point that Republicans tend to be "tough on crime". The fact that this dude got convicted on 34 charges, which includes Trump deliberately fudging his taxes, should mean something, right? But ah... i guess that tough on crime attitude doesn't matter, so long as it's not one of their own. We've seen plenty of Democrat politicians engage in shady/illegal activity as well, so partisan politics has nothing to do with this post. It's the hypocrisy of politicians in general, particularly those people who claim to be good for society. 1

We've already seen the usual cast of clownish performance artists, publicly stating what a "disgrace", or "outrage" this decision was.... Yet, we see exactly nobody getting up on their soapbox to defend Bob Menendez.... Heck, we hardly see anyone defending Hunter Biden, even though he's facing consequences that no average citizen would be facing....

However, there is subjectivity regarding time since conviction and/or seriousness of crime that can see convicted felons getting a pass and allowed entry. Canada is in this boat as well.
