whats wrong with gender study? I'm assuming this is academic?

we send money "all over" because its good for everyone. Having less illness and conflict e.g., just makes good business sense, as well as being moral.

Our tax dollars again

are meant to help our country

no it’s not our responsibility to pay taxes for other countries

my lord

First off Im not an American or a Trump supporter. And secondly the ruling class in the USA wouldn't, they'd fight against it.

But according to a recent poll nearly one in four americans would support it. So it's gaining steam.

And again the question remains, if large segments of the population are irreconcilably divided on culture & values, why continue to fight to impose on each other when people could just have what they want in their own state.

We agree 100%, although I don't know what Trump has to do with it.

who said responsibility? I said its good for business. Global stability just means more markets for our goods and services, and fewer wars to fight. It's just good business.

Not too worried about a war with Pakistan

Particularly when our countries are broke

so to try to be less broke, you want to have fewer markets to sell stuff to?

You don’t have to give money to pakistan for gender studies to sell products there

perhaps you don’t think we need more physicians, better medical equipment and smaller classroom sizes - those clearly aren’t better uses for Canadian tax dollars in your view

fair enough - you have different values than me

well, yes you do. More women in the workforce means more money in their economy.

we do need more of those. So lets trim some administrative fat, and increase our GDP other ways. Like investing and growing links in emerging economies.

apparently good business practices isn't one of them. Not sure what virtues you are trying to signal.

No we don’t need to fund other countries

it seems you have a very idealistic view of taxation, revenue, and challenges within this country

im curious, are you in school or do you work?

My point is, you’ve clearly not been in the work force long enough to feel the effect of taxation and poor policy

the fact you believe you use taxation to create prosperity is a naive illusion sold to you by governments

the fact you believe taxing Canadians and sending that money to pakistan as an example, for gender studies, increases our GDP suggests you’ve not taken an economics course.

suggest maybe you take one or two.

best of luck

oh OK. Like ECON101, or?

So here's an example of where our tax money goes. Like I said, good business: https://www.findevcanada.ca/en

It seems you believe getting taxed at 45% of your income - goes to govt

then 13% on anything you buy with that after tax money - goes to govt

and then property tax on top of that - goes to govt

Ie - Giving the govt more money from your work than you keep

then losing purchasing power through govt printing money / spending - inflation

somehow makes you more prosperous

interesting take I have to say

not sure how you make that Math work lol
