Leaks out of the vetting process. Whenever there is a buck to be made just follow the money.

How much could someone make leaking into? Seems like a great way to kill your career.

Well SCOTUS really had no choice as it is hard to argue standing when the complaint came from the state of Missouri.

No body in the know actually are leaking. Probably just a staffer at the campaign that saw those two going in for the interview.

Out of the four Shapiro is the one that would drag the down the enthusiasm with his scandals and gaza stance.

Please be Beshear. The guy is strong for labor and is liked by Republicans.

..  so,    Why isn’t Trump vetted as a political presidential Candidate?

it’s a fair question.

@Sabrefan1?

Walz 54.4%

Shapiro 41.2%

Anything can still happen but I suspect as @24K said it's Shapiro's baggage that is doing him in. The campaign does not want to lose the Palestinian supporter vote which is heavy in Michigan. My guess is they are betting Walz (from Minnesota) will have enough appeal to help carry the Rust Belt states of Wisconsin. Michigan and Pennsylvania

Trump Praises Venezuela’s Dictator, Says He Made Country ‘Very Safe’

It's almost like Trump has a list of "things that I should never say in public if I hope to win the presidential election" but goes ahead and says whatever pops into his head. Venezuela's Maduro is a good guy, Putin is a good guy, Republican Governor Brian Kemp is a bad guy, Zelensky is a bad guy, Xi is tough, Modi is tough, Duterte is tough and he fell in love with Kim Jong-Un. Kamala failed the bar exam because of her low IQ and because instead of being biracial, she has to pick one race to be. Milwaukee is a horrible city, Atlanta is a war zone, Washington DC is crawling with wandering bands of thugs and rapists and the University of Georgia wouldn't let "thousands" of Trump supporters into the arena and, in fact, chased them several blocks away out of sight of the TV cameras. Trump has done more for black people than any president since Lincoln.

While none of this surprises anyone who has watched Trump for the last 100 years or so, how can any of the big dollar backers willingly cough up hundreds of thousands and millions to back a guy who grows more out-of-control by the hour. When do the donors say, okay, that's too much, get rid of him and throw our resources behind Nikki Haley?

What do you mean?  There's no privilege involved.  Only a party can vet a presidential candidate.  At it's core, they're a popularity contest.

Say the Republicans went to Trump last year and said, we've decided that you don't meet the standard for our candidates and quite frankly, we don't like you because we can't control you like we can ultra-conservative Gov. DeDufus of Florida.

Trump could have gotten MAGA to start an intraparty fight and either tried to force his way onto the ballot or ran as an independent and split the vote which would have made a debate pointless and guaranteed Biden a 2nd term.

Constitutionally, anyone over 35 can run.  Also, if you remember, some Democratic states tried to keep Trump from running on their ballots because of Jan. 6 but were overruled by the SCOTUS.

I agree with that SCOTUS ruling.  It's not in the state's purview who can run on a federal ballot.  That's up to Congress to decide.  States only have control on their state ballot.

In some states, felons can’t vote, own firearms, receive SNAP benefits, live in public housing, hold public office, serve on jury, be awarded custody of a child/children, work in law enforcement, health care, education etc. But convicted felon can run and become a president. Only in America.
