24K
So Trump proposing we do 'The Purge' now. Kamala really dropping the ball with this election still being so close. God dman it Kamala, just one universal populist program and this will end in a landslide. Is it that hard to feed children in public schools across the US?

Both massively success but also both pitiful excuses for people. Many of the founding fathers of the USA also belong in this category. I think this is less Kamala dropping the ball and more the failure of the institutional media to call out the right wing extremism due to their profit driven motive in giving balanced and 'objective' coverage. With OAN, Fox and the legacy media empires, there is a built in advantage to being Republican and Trump is really showing how deep it goes. I think it is unrealistic to think a policy reveal on the Dems side is going to result in a landslide. It is just one of the drawbacks of Capitalism if it is allowed to flourish without any controls. Personally, I think a mix of Capitalism along with a sprinkling of socialism is the best way forward. In a pure Capitalist world, the rich would get richer and the poor poorer. With the mix of socialism added there are safety nets for the poor such as what we have in Canada today vs the USA where if you are poor, you can't afford to go to a doctor or hospital esp. if you have no medical insurance. Many of the socialist tweaks to our societies have benefited a large percentage of the populace. 40hr work weeks. Not forced child labor in the mines and mills. Safety standards to reduce serious injuries to employees etc. I would suggest that capitalism is atool not a philosophy. It is how scarce resources are utilized to maximum benefit. In a democracy the politicians ultimately make the choices as to how scarce resources are employed. The socialist model simply directs scarce resources to different priorities. In doing so they might reduce capital investment and thereby reduce economic growth with the ramifications that means. Society has to weigh need and then decide. The secret, IMO, is that we find a balance between them that promotes the maximum benefit to all of the populace and not just the ones in positions of power, the filthy rich or well to do. 2 4 1

I think it is unrealistic to think a policy reveal on the Dems side is going to result in a landslide. I disagree. Her problem is that she doesn't have a simple widely applicable message that she will make people's life more affordable. Her proposals are a mess of bandaid and special cases that apply to a sliver of the population. There is a reason why voters constantly complain that she has no policy details cause it is a quagmire. Her real problem ironically enough is too much details and lack of a simple easily digestible universal policy. Her biggest policy that could apply here is anti price gouging but she just retreat on that front everytime it gets brought up. I been saying the least controversial proposal that would apply for broad appeal that make average American life more affordable is universal public school meals. She literally have Walz whose claim to fame is said program in his state. It is a no brainer at this point. To be fair, media ain't helping either and online contend definitely leans way more to the right with the amount imof manosphere creators out there compared to the left. RupertKBD
Guess which "stable genius" is back on the "Climate Change is a scam" train? https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/trump-sparks-controversy-for-calling-climate-change-a-scam-as-hurricane-helene-leaves-trail-of-destruction/ar-AA1rtffS?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=5d23ad971107471980f8c6b763d6d4d7&ei=13 Quote Donald Trump has sparked controversy for declaring that climate change is “one of the great scams” after Hurricane Helene left a trail of destruction, killing more than 100 people, across the southeast US. Speaking at a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Sunday afternoon, the former president pushed a conspiracy theory that man-made climate change is a myth. “Do you ever notice, this was such a big deal, the environmental stuff,” he told rallygoers in a rambling address. “I haven’t heard the environmental stuff mentioned in six months. I was saying the other night: ‘What the hell happened to the environment?’” Calling out to David McCormick, the Pennsylvania GOP Senate challenger, Trump added: “David, will you figure this out?” “No but think about this,” Trump continued. “They never talk about the environment anymore. You know why?” He concluded: “It’s one of the greatest scams of all time… people aren’t buying it any more. I don’t want to use bad language, my wife said, ‘Please don’t use bad language.’” Pretty tone deaf, even for a doofus like Trump.....right after a hurricane kills over 100 people....
