4petesake
This is mind-boggling. 26,313 women have been forced to deliver babies conceived by rape in a state with no rape exceptions for abortion, after Governor Abbot reassured women that the state would work tirelessly to eliminate all rapists from the streets of Texas when the abortion ban took effect. JAMA study says more than 26,000 rape-related pregnancies in Texas since abortion ban https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/jama-study-says-more-than-26000-rape-related-pregnancies-in-texas-since-abortion-ban/ar-BB1hgOfG Quote A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association this week says there have been more than an estimated 26,000 rape-related pregnancies in Texas since the Supreme Court handed down the Dobbs decision. The study also says that of the 14 states with abortion bans, Texas has the most – 45 percent of the rape-related pregnancies. Texas has had an abortion ban with no rape exception in place since Dobbs came down more than 18 months ago because of a trigger law. The abortion ban in some of the other states has not been in place as long, and in some cases, there is a rape exception to the abortion ban in other states. But back in September of 2021, when Governor Greg Abbott announced the Heartbeat Act, he said this when a reporter pressed him on the lack of a rape exception: “Rape is a crime and Texas will work tirelessly to make sure we eliminate all rapists from the streets of Texas by aggressively going after them and arresting them and prosecuting them.” In the states with abortion bans, researchers estimated there were more than 519,000 completed rapes and 64,565 pregnancies associated with those rapes. Ninety-one percent of the pregnancies occurred in states that have no rape exception and 26, 313, or 45 percent of them happened in Texas. RupertKBD
I seem to recall one of the local Trump nut huggers asking for proof of his racism.....well, here you go: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/politics/full-eugenicist-trump-says-bad-genes-make-immigrants-more-likely-to-commit-murder/ar-AA1rPKHx?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=0ecc10633173453fb6e028f5fc6c0eba&ei=40 Quote Donald Trump is falsely alleging immigrants’ genetics make them predisposed to committing the crime of murder, and says immigrants coming into the U.S. have “a lot of bad genes.” The ex-president, a convicted felon running again for the White House falsely alleged his democratic presidential opponent, Vice President Harris, has allowed 13,000 murderers to enter the country. That figure is the sum total of all people convicted of murder who have crossed the border over the past 40 years, NBC News reported, including during Trump’s time as president. It also incudes people who may currently be in state or federal prison. “When you look at the things that she proposes,” Trump, speaking of Vice President Harris, told far-right pundit Hugh Hewitt Monday morning, “they’re so far off she has no clue. How about allowing people to come to an open border? 13,000 of which were murderers, many of them, murdered far more than one person, and they are now happily living in the United States you know now, a murderer.” “I believe this. It’s in their genes, and we got a lot of bad genes in our country right now,” Trump alleged.

Boudrias
Are we supposed to believe the polls on who is winning the POTUS race? Is Trump the bumbling fool that is promoted? Does Harris have the lower IQ that is suggested? To some extent who wins should be irrelevent as Canadian interests should be the primary driver in Canada-USA relationships. We should know that whether Democrat or Republican that both parties play hardball in trade relations with Canada. Canada is a pushover and we act like one. Trump threatened and enacted tariffs on Canadian aluminin and steel imports. He fast tracked Keystone XL to get cheap Canadian crude. Biden cancelled it as soon as he was elected. Both administrations had no problem with Softwood Tariffs on BC wood exports. The environmental movement that thwarted Canadian pipelines to the BC coast was well funded by the Rockefeller Foundation and by the Koch family who wanted cheap Canadian oil to continue flowing to their refineries. That same environmental movement largely killed the BC LNG industry from building out. Instead of BC gaining the billions of $ from LNG Texas is getting them. The USA that had no LNG production in 2014 is now the world's largest exporter. John Horgan who signed off on LNG Canada stated that BC would recieve $2 billion per year in taxes from this single plant. IMHO until Canada can diversify trade from the USA we will continue to be the doormat of NAFTA. The critical aspects of being a soverign nation are subjugated to American interests.
