Just look at the awful ratings for this Stanley Cup Final.

Ratings were up this year significantly and game 7 had triple what any games did last year and was highest rated game since St. Louis won in 2019.

Don't know about everyone else, but just looked and the site is still going. Guessing midnight tonight is when it goes dark.

I think it might still be processing because it's the weekend, but it is curious considering it was originally being shut down on the 1st, and then the 5th. But it's still up....

Such a good site too.

Screw you Capitals, but good on the guys who run it to make some dough.

Yeah, good on them. But still. Fuck the Capitals.

I have had preliminary conversations and done some preparation with some potential partners to start a replacement. The reality is that sourcing and implementing the daily updates to support the amount of content and functionality that CapFriendly has is quite substantial. We are trying to develop some possible plans to mitigate and/or accomplish this task, or at least a growing subset of what it would take.

Those guys should just start another one. Call it 'capfriendlier'.

Puckpedia is the way to go:

https://puckpedia.com/teams

Also, there are snapshots in history of CapFriendly that can be accessed here.  You just pick a date/time stamp:

Much slower, but the info is all there.

We'll be fine... 🙃

Another couple ones have popped up on reddit, but how they useful are and how regularly they're updated is anyone's guess

Yup, it's down for me. Not sure I understand the logic in buying this and then shutting it down. Really doesn't make a lot of sense.

Is Washington trying to hide their cap from the rest of the world???

Maybe we were becoming better at formulating trades than their own management???? 😉

My guess is the key staff have been retained by the Capitals, and the tool is now gonna be an internal one used by Washington only.  It's basically hiring the staff and having them continue their work, but now the Caps are the only ones benefiting from the data.
