Cool story every year.

Yup.  Pointless statement every single year.  "Listening on" is a lot different than "Looking to trade".  Pretty sure even Chicago listened on their 1st OA pick for Bedard.

Pretty sure the Canucks are "listening" on Hughes.

Pretty sure their response is get bent. Listening is such a terrible way to overhype nothing.

If Iginla is there sure.

If Iginla were available at 7 I'd seriously consider giving them Hronek and figure the RD bit out later tbh

He's going to be a stud

If Iginla gets past the Doodle Bugs at 5OA then their management are bigger morans than Benning/Brod.

They need a goalie.

Silovs for 7OA is shades of Schneider trade.

You're dreaming if you think there's a GM in the league that would give up a top 10 pick for Silovs. Schneider had 100 starts under his belt and some of the best stats in the league when he was traded.  Silovs has promise but he's proven nothing yet.  Let's see how he does once NHL shoppers have the the book on him. Any goalie cam look good for short bursts. Look at what Hammond did in Ottawa. How did his career pan out?  Remember Brian Boucher in Philly?. He holds the longest shutout streak in league history 334 minutes. But find me someone who thinks he's an all time great goalie.

Hell,  even in recent Canuck history people went crazy over the hot starts of Martin and Desmith.

Goalies almost never return high picks because they are largely a product of the system they play in. Does anyone here think Veziba winner Ulmark is actually one of the best goalies in the league? Or did he win because of the team he played behind?
