Klingberg is too much of a powerplay specialist now, with big defensive deficiencies, id rather Alexandre Carrier. Small but plays big.

Plus at this point the Poolman cap is still under the cap ceiling...should be able to grow LTIR space over the year unless something really intriguing becomes available on the open market.

So Suter must be moving to 3/4 C unless there's a trade for a 3C or Raty pulls a magic trick.

It wasn't terrible, Canucks have to plan for future years and needed to bargain hunt. Let's see how this new roster does under Tocchet. Can Petey turn DeBrusk into a 30-goal scorer?

I like it so far!  Curious how the depth shakes out (must say the center depth would take a hit with Lindholm gone but that was to be expected; hope the depth signings by committee (along with a Petey resurgence) can help this team be even stronger as a unit; if we shore up the blueline further we can be a Bruins-type contender, with skilled two-way stars heading the offense, along with excellent depth and steady back end).

It actually wouldn't surprise me if they move on from Podkolzin. I don't see where he fits on this team right now, and you can't have him riding the pine for most of the season/in the AHL again.

As I see it, there are a couple of possibilities for defenders (that we might be able to afford)....

 

If we want size, Hakanpaa....if we want a puck mover, Ghost. (although he's a lefty)
