Not sure paying Debrusk 7 years is not desperation.

I am happy for the most with the signings of DeBrusk, Sheraton and Heinen. It is the Forbort signing that has me scratching my head. He really doesn't push the needle for me and I feel like there has to be something more happening

I think DeBrusk will be a good fit for Petey. Has speed to get in first on the forecheck, will go to the net and has shown he can score. Playoff performer. With a mentor like Tocchet, I think his game has room to grow.

People on here are nuts. They want to build the team on UFA day but with short deals at good AAV. That is not how UFA days work. 
‘You are lucky when you are uncomfortable with just one of term or AAV. Usually on UFA day you get screwed on both. 
As Burkie always says, UFA day and deadline are when GMs make the majority of their mistakes.
