He did not

He did move his skate, wonder what he saw when he was upside down in the bench, can see it being deliberate given he moved his feet when the shoving continued.   That said he was upside down, no way he'd know where his feet were going.   It was dangerous, also part of the game when your upside down in a bench!

As far as a target goes, does have connections to Vancouver.    Didn't think he had a big impact in their run.     If Allvin did this and we got something for him, bet the complaining would be around for awhile unless he produced.   Then it would go away.   Why does EDM want to trade him?.

Yeah, I got that mixed up.  What a bizarre offer

my hunch is that it's a sort of token retirement offer. "we can't afford to compete with the aav you'll get offered on the market, but we respect what you've done here and want you to retire in tampa so here's how we can offer you meaningful money."

I doubt they truly expected him to take it, but at least they can tell their fans they offered him $24m and he turned it down.

It's a joke of an offer. They hadn't even talked to him about re-signing until this offer

I wouldn't say joke, but I would (and did) say token.

He was upside down in the bench, I think that was just a natural reaction......of course his feet are going to flail.

He was pretty hurt in the playoffs, barely played at all in the finals.

He's been a consistent producer and still produces pretty well.  I only suggested it because he'd be cheap and you'd likely get a sweetener.  They just traded their 2025 first, but my suggestion was Lavoie, who can probably step in now.  Big body, great skater, good offense, great pk'er and can play C and W.

I think they want room for Drai's extension for next year and have some flexibility for this year.  He's got a full nmc this year, so they don't have much leverage in a deal.

If they could unload Suter's $1.8m cap hit in the deal, all the better

Kane, lavoie -$6m

Suter -$1.8m

You've still got just over $10m to play with.  Make a hard play for stamkos, roy and a bargain ld.......maybe bring Cole back

Kane Miller Boes

Hogz Petey Stamkos

Joshua blueger Garland

Podz Lavoie Karlsson

Aman

Hughes Hronek

Soucy Myers

Cole Roy

Juuls

Heck, I’d give him 6-7 lol.

Same, as long as its relatively agort term. He might be 34 but he's still one hell of an offensive talent and scored 40 last year. If that's all he's looking for then if I'm Allvin I'd be first in line to give him an offer.

The NHL insider speculated that the Lightning have offered Stamkos an eight-year contract with a low $3 million AAV. LeBrun also noted that this deal won't work for Stamkos and that he likely wants between $4 million to $5 million per season with that term.

Love to see Allvin offer him a 3 year deal in the $6.5-$ 7.5 range.

Stamkos has made a lot of money in his career, not sure he's looking for the biggest payday as much as he's looking

for the best fit with a chance to win another cup. If it's about the best offer (money) then he'll sign with San Jose, Chicago, Utah or Detroit.

Most of the better teams or contenders don't have a lot of $$$ to spend though unless they can move out players.

I like our chances....just don't handcuff our future by offering him a 4-6 year deal.

Kane is a well documents P.O.S.

Zero chance Allvin brings someone like that into the locker room.

If guys like Byfuglien, Thornton and McDavid couldn't straighten him out, then Miller sure won't.

Last thing we need is a locker room cancer and a selfish player.

What issues did he have in Edmonton?

IF it's short term he's the perfect fit, 2 years would be amazing, 3 years if fine...4 years I wouldn't like, but might be the cost of getting a deal done.

There was lots of chatter early in the season during edmontons losing skid that there was major disconnect in the dressing room, and Kane was in the centre of it.

That the players were not getting along. This is a very common theme with Kane with all 3 previous teams he played for.

Kane seems to just be one of those guys who thinks he's special, needs attention and is a royal douche.

We want to stay as far away as we can from this loser.

Were looking for cheap champs, not cheap chumps!

Ok so 34-40 mil total.

We'd have to do something like 7 mil x 5 years, and buyout proof with max bonus money to get him.

Canucks still interested in Jake Guentzel
This one is no surprise. We’ve known for a while now that the Canucks are keen on the former Penguin.

But the price to sign him will be high, certainly a maximum-term deal of seven years, and likely upwards of $9 million per season, The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun suggests.

There are, obviously, lots of Guentzel-Canucks connections already. His agent is Ben Hankinson, who represents Brock Boeser and Teddy Blueger as well. Of course the team’s management knows Guentzel well from when they were all together in Pittsburgh.

One team source has expressed strong confidence this gets done.

But Guentzel’s talents are widely coveted. He’s going to see a lot of offers.

And a league source suggested that tax considerations could indeed come in to play. Not necessarily as a deal-breaker, but a simple reality of how much he’d net in one jurisdiction compared to another.

There’s some notion that Carolina thinks they’ve re-signed Guentzel, but a source said that this is just bluster from the Hurricanes.

Elliotte Friedman suggested that the deal Carolina is floating would be eight years at $8 million per season. Friedman said he understood that this was what Guentzel was after from Carolina.

But it must be said that Carolina is a very tough situation to read, because their owner Tom Dundon is very involved in the financial decisions there. He trusts his hockey people to deliver, but he still drives a hard bargain on spending.

I don’t hate it on paper.  Probably swap Roy and Myers, but it is a strong lineup.  Depends on which Kane you are getting though….That’s the risk management and coaching would need to make based on what they know and think of their ability to tame him.  Being back in your home town with old friends could be a disaster.  Have to have his picture up for security at the Whiterock Casino 🎰
