Was 2011 a successful season in your opinion?

Ignoring SCF game 7 2011. Would you say overall the season was a success. Years later. Or, was it a failure?

To me it was a good, not great season. Lots of memories.

One night shouldn't ruin two nights of an otherwise awesome road.

We were considered a cup contender and were the President's Trophy winners. The season and playoffs were nice, but the goal was not reached, so it was a failure.

in that the "goal" of any given season is winning the last game of the playoffs, no, but if we're grading on the curve established by what would constitute an average nhl season, then absolutely.

Absolutely.

First in the NHL in the regular season. President's Trophy winner. Top 5 in every single measureable statisticks (Powerplay, PK, 5-on-5, Faceoffs etc.)

It was great to see our core come together to slay the Dragon.

It was a run that captured the fans and the city, I wouldn't trade anything (except for a cup win) for that run.

Sometimes, sucess isn't definited by championships, it's the memories a team creates for a generation.

They were the best team in the league that year.  They led in so many categories.  They were more than a contender, they were the favorite to win the cup.  But there is more to winning a cup than all that.  It takes heart and it also takes health.  Many times there are key injuries and top players are unable to perform up to their usual standards.  So there is a certain amount of luck involved in winning cups.
