Nucks89
Ignoring SCF game 7 2011. Would you say overall the season was a success. Years later. Or, was it a failure? To me it was a good, not great season. Lots of memories. One night shouldn't ruin two nights of an otherwise awesome road. Alflives
Our most successful season ever. Presidents’ trophy and two games playing to win the Cup.
Bob Long
I always separate regular season from playoffs, they are very different animals, so I do enjoy them differently. So yes and no, to the op.

Jam126
We were considered a cup contender and were the President's Trophy winners. The season and playoffs were nice, but the goal was not reached, so it was a failure.
tas
in that the "goal" of any given season is winning the last game of the playoffs, no, but if we're grading on the curve established by what would constitute an average nhl season, then absolutely. DSVII
It was, I remember right after the game 7 being very proud of the team having gone this far. The worst sour taste was that riot and it was not the team's fault
RJCF96
Absolutely. First in the NHL in the regular season. President's Trophy winner. Top 5 in every single measureable statisticks (Powerplay, PK, 5-on-5, Faceoffs etc.) It was great to see our core come together to slay the Dragon. It was a run that captured the fans and the city, I wouldn't trade anything (except for a cup win) for that run. Sometimes, sucess isn't definited by championships, it's the memories a team creates for a generation. 1

They were more than a contender, they were the favorite to win the cup. But there is more to winning a cup than all that. It takes heart and it also takes health. Many times there are key injuries and top players are unable to perform up to their usual standards. So there is a certain amount of luck involved in winning cups. Rounoush
The closest we ever came as a franchise so, in that sense, it was.
Iron Fist
Won the first of our back to back president trophys. So it was good. First selke, first hart as well.
Smashian Kassian
Absolutely it was, without a doubt. There's a reason its the bar/measuing stick we often compare the current team to in this market.
Dumb Nuck
No, we had a team that could have won several cups and came up empty. I feel our major weakness was coaching, chewing bubblegum and turning the other cheek doesn’t win cups.
Morgan 33
2011 was our year and we were robbed.
Rip The Mesh
2011 ? For sure but IMO, we had a more complete and balanced team in 1994.
