Gwapo
If the Canucks are unable to agree on a contract with Zadorov or if they want someone younger, I would try to get K'Andre Miller. 24 years old, 6'5" 216lb LHD, great skater, strong, good reach, and can carry the puck. $3.872M AAV, with 1 year remaining. Will be an RFA after next season. Year after year the Canucks struggle to carry the puck into the zone, coaching strategies can only help so much. We need players that can skate with the puck, it's a skill that not everyone can do at this level. From what I've read, Ranger fans are mixed on K'Andre. He had some defensive struggles this year (some blame Trouba for this) and didn't take the step that many hoped he would. He was basically their own chaos giraffe. He also took a couple games off for his mental health, which had some New Yorkers upset. I believe our coaching staff and players could help Miller take the next step and be a gamechanger for us. He was a forward that transitioned to a defenseman late at around 16. He defends using his skating similar to Quinn Hughes. So I believe Hughes and Adam Foote can help him take his defending to the next level. As Minnesota natives, I think Brock Boeser could connect with him and mentor him, given everything Brock has gone through. Additionally, I also think Vancouver with its mix of city and natural landscape is more conducive to better mental health than New York is. Spoiler Dmitri Voronkov has the potential to be a monster playoff performer that can bring size to our forward group that we don't have. 23 years old, 6'5" 240lbs, C/LW, fights, hits, and a big body with soft hands. Tocchet loves to have the team going for tips in front of the net, so I think he would have a lot of success here as he is a net-front specialist. The only worry is if he gets homesick or is upset leaving Marchenko as I am not sure if we have the assets to acquire both. Spoiler Spoiler Lastly, add some more size and speed with Alexey Toropchenko. 25 years old, 6'6" 222lbs, LW. Will be an RFA after this season, currently with an AAV of $1.25m. Not an established top 6 player, but at the very least he will make us harder to play against. Spoiler Trade 1: Canucks receive: Dmitri Voronkov Blue Jackets receive: Nils Hoglander Trade 2: Canucks receive: K'Andre Miller Rangers receive: Sawyer Minio Christian Wolanin 2026 1st Round Pick Trade 3: Canucks receive: Alexey Toropchenko Blues receive: Aiden Mcdonough (RFA rights) 2026 4th Round Pick RFA signings: Arturs Silovs, $1.25m x 2 UFA signings: Jani Hakanpaa, $1.5m x 1 Jake DeBrusk, $5.8m x 5 With DeBrusk we add speed to Petey's wing, Voronkov adds size, both add grit, scoring, and defensive responsibility. We solidify a top 3 D core for the next 8 years and add a filler 6'7" RD in Hakanpaa until the top 4 D can be completed. Plus $2.7m in cap space to allow for trade deadline acquisitions and/or resigning players next off-season.
fuzzy
Interesting proposal. I haven't considered Miller as an option and don't think he'd be available but you never know. I would love to get Voronkov and Toropchenko.
qwijjibo
Miller being available is pure fantasy, and if he was available that offer wouldn't begin to interest the Rangers. It would hurt a lot more to aquire him
HKSR
Not sure why NYR would bother with #2. Miller is worth WAY more than that package. Mcdonough is gonna be a UFA. Not sure why STL would place any value on his rights. A 4th has minimal value. Voronkov does what Hoglander can do, but he's much bigger and stronger... so doubt CLB would bother with that trade as well.

I just want to think outside of the box and was reflecting on his trade rumours in the past.
