Was paid $825,000 last season by Colorado, and has $43.5 mill in career earnings.

May be wiling to sign in the $3 mill per range- for hopefully no longer than 3 years.

Left and right winger- so flexibility in line mates/placement is built in.

Described by elite Prospects as:

An agile forward, Drouin is very creative and a good skater. He is an extremely offensive player with fantastic hands and excellent on-ice-vision. Drouin has a good shot but is best used as a playmaker and is very dangerous on the powerplay. Drouin is not a large player or an explosive skater, but he is very agile and able to play his way out of tight spots thanks to his hockey sense. (Matias Strozyk, 2012)

note Elite Prospects has him labelled as a LW/C- so even more flexibility?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

If he would come here at about that money-then there would be enough cap room to bring back Zads, and left over could entice Patrick Kane to sign a short term deal as well?

Better forward depth and a very similar defense for next year would be an improvement, imo.

Can't see him being a fit here or leaving his buddy MacKinnon.

Yeah, if he's willing to sign for that cheap, Avs would just keep him.

Avs have 7 forwards signed for next year

                 4 D

and just $10.466 mill in cap space.

taking $3m  to pay to Jonathan would be very tough to do, imo.

Probably why it's rumoured that Colton is on the trade block.

Landeskog and O'Connor are also just on IR... not LTIR, so they probably expect them back.  So they have 9 forwards under contract.  Move out Colton and they have 8 under contract with 14M to work with... Mostly just bottom 6 and bottom pairing D guys... so it could work.

Wild thought.

Trade Garland.

Sign Drouin and Stamkos?

I like what Conor brings to our team, more than what Drouin does.  I don't see Stamkos leaving the Eastern

Conference.

Didn’t Stamkos sign July 1 with Nashville? And we definitely want nothing to do with Drouin.

Hadn't heard that...but Nashville is east to me😎  Agree about Drouin.
