In a recent hockey writers interview, JIAHN was cautious to ordain any one young gun, but he is looking for several of his top prospects to push for a job this year. Certainly, Prince Rupert Sea Wolves of the AHL, will have some great young players pushing the veteran Stars for jobs. JIAHN took some delight in naming a few that, should be in the mix. (Dylan Duke, Brennan Othmann, Mavrik Bourque, Helge Grans, Denton Mateychuk and Scott Morrow, all look to be in the mix. Optimist Prime Posted 11 hours ago Share Posted 11 hours ago Assignment: The Seattle Kraken assign David Goyette to the minor league affiliate Lake Cowichan Kraken. With six 'extra' forwards and five 'extra' Blueliners and 1 'extra' goaltender still in camp, more cuts are expected before the end of the month. Notables still pushing for a shot at making the opening night roster are Brad Lambert, Ryan Winterton, Owen Pickering and Maveric Lamoureux, among others. Arvid Soderblom, Arturs Silovs and Jacob Markstrom have not only shown outstanding abilities in the crease but a great comradery between them. Both Silovs and Soderblom are waiver ineligible, while Markstrom is the bonafide Starter here in Seattle. With our top six fully realized, and at least 7 defenders on the roster, these camp battles are basically looking to find the best fit for perhaps one more Dman, and a chance to win one or two forward spots. The intensity is heating up, and the club is shaping into what we envisioned at the onset of summer. Seattle looks to be taking a step this year back into a playoff push.
