With Ten forward positions secured, and six Blueliners set for opening night The Kraken are taking extended looks at the best mix for the remaining five positions.

Matej Blumel is making it incredibly hard to ignore him this year, with last seasons tenacity and drive shining through in spades this late September. Not a surprise, as we acquired him in March this year from New Jersey as a key component in a deal that moved out Anthony Duclair for two draft picks next summer, Blumel and Elias Salomonsson. Matej seems to have proven all there is to prove in the AHL putting up a rock solid 62 points in 72 regular season games and crowning that achievment with a further 5 goals and 4 assists in 7 games in the AHL playoffs. Could Matej Blumel reach for the ring and take one of the five remaining spots out of camp?

Brad Lambert is another head turner in camp this September, four years younger than Matej Blumel, the 20 year old Lambert is nearing elite skating status, puck skills and scoring ability for his level, but can he translate that to a full time GML job before he turns 21? With two N.A. season under his belt now, and posting 55 points in 64 games in the minors last year (another point in two playoff appearances), he is on the cusp of a full time big league job. The coming week will tell if he can unseat a David Gustafsson or John Beecher for one of the final forward slots in camp.

Seemingly Locks for the opening night roster in Seattle:

Eklund, Barzal, Nyquist
Fiala, Malkin, Teravainen

Engvall, Copp, Compher

Jankowski

Provorov, Severson

Gavrikov, Zub

Grzelcyk, Ceci

Markstrom

Silovs

In the Mix to claim the remaining 5 spots:

David Gustavsson, John Beecher, Taylor Raddysh

Matej Blumel, Brad Lambert, Adam Sykora

Tristan Broz, Jean-Luc Foudy, Ryan Winterton

Scott Perunovich, Jacob Moverare

Owen Pickering, Maveric Lamoureux

Lucas Carlsson, Santeri Hatakka

Anttoni Honka

Quote

This group of guys in this camp, this year, is really something special. A team I feel may be the best complete 50 guys I have ever fielded in a dozen years of GML. While we still have to play the games, I am really looking forward to this season, and far beyond it. Mistakes have and will be made, the measure will be in how we recover from them. One week remaining to opening night!!!! WOOOOoooooOOOOOOOOOooooooo!

Does assigning a player to junior automatically slide their contract, or are those two different things?

ELC slide is dependent on

1. The ELC was signed WHEN you had appropriate qualifying investment in the front office
2. If the player plays 9 or fewer games in the NHL and is eligible for a slide.

So you can't just designate a player to ELC slides, the contract will just slide automatically (c2x handles them at some point during the season).

Edit: never mind I got it.

The Kings are getting excited for this season, as the young depth we've been accumulating look to be giving us some hard decisions when cuts come. Youngsters like Matt Coronato, James Malatesta and William Dufour are showing well in their preseason games, pushing our veterans.

Our first round of cuts are expected in the next 48 hours.

A friendly reminder from one of the newest leagues in the Fantasy Forums: two teams are open for a GM to take over.

Seattle and New Jersey available in GFL if anyone is interested. We still have Free Agents being signed this week, and the clubs are viable.
Reach out and i will connect you to the executive if you are interested in a full time spot or even as a temp GM until a full timer can be found, thank you.
