Again you’re wrong. CBC is a much needed National broadcaster that supports our Canadian culture. It’s TV, Internet, and radio. IT’s Canadian and we should be proud of it.

You can be what you want to be, but you are clearly in the minority. Why don't you do a little research instead of coming in and demanding everything from everybody. Why don't you see on any given day How many people tune into the CBC. And again, as I pointed out there is far better things to spend 1 billion on annually than the CBC. If you want to dismiss our veterans, seniors and kids that's on you but I would rather put them first and say that a billion dollars a year would be better spent on them than the CBC.

A country without culture no longer exists.   Canada without CBC would just be another USA state.  But coming from Alberta, that is probably what you are hoping for anyways......

I'd rather pay some tax dollars for CBC instead of relying on big corporations for news.

Well no doubt you will find it ridiculous because you absolutely support the guy you've made that clear over various posts. I mean you point out that you didn't vote for him but you come to his defense. I think it's important to note that he at one time in his life did not support abortion if we are going to point out conservatives potentially not supporting abortion. I mean you guys sit and jump all over conservatives that you don't even know if they do or don't support it, but say nothing about the guy that previously didn't support it. I do think that's important. If you think it's ridiculous, feel free not to respond. If you feel it's worth responding to which you have, but you're only doing it in a complete defense of Trudeau while not recognizing that it's somehow okay to just blanket statement All conservatives are against abortion or a woman's right to choose.

I will point out though it might not be you personally saying it, but if I go through these threads or the threads in the former forum I don't see you ever correcting these blanket statements, but yet you come out to defend Trudeau do you see the point I'm getting at?

Oh yes, the personal attack. That's all right King. I can take it. it was you a number of years back that floated the idea of joining with a couple states and creating some socialist utopia I believe it was Oregon, California and Idaho? Remember when you were pissed off at Alberta was going to shut the oil off? I mean you never wanted oil in the first place but when it was actually potentially on the table you were then mad and wanted to join with those states. I don't care for the United States myself. Too much drama lol

Oh, I didn't know it was between CBC or big corporations. I'll be perfectly honest. I haven't had cable since 2019.

I can't imagine starting my day without a nice walk. I used to be big into television but cut my cable in 2019 and never looked back. So now I got to rely on you guys to give me truthful political views. Haha

I think you better put down the bottle and read a little better. No charges were laid but he was clearly at that house. But again the only reason I brought it up is because the OP had told me he voted NDP and when he said that anybody voting conservative is complicit in what Any specific conservative does? I just said I doubt he would end up at a rub and tug Even though a member from the party, he voted for a did.

the article you linked stated no charges were filed. So can you provide evidence to support your supposition is true? If not then it’s okay to recant.

This country isn't a business, it's the sum of the citizens who live here.  There are few things more important than common cultural experiences.  It's been that way for a couple hundred thousand years.

You know you are getting closer and closer to that block list. Don't make me put you down as the first it would have been Joey but my phone was screwing me up and I changed course. Again, he was at the house when it was raided. That is what is factual no charges were laid. Doesn't change what the facts were.

But to be 100% clear one more time. I really like the individual in question. Thought he was a true passionate politician which is very rare over the last 40 years and I don't care at all if he was getting a rub and tug by five different prostitutes.

No go jump over to the Trump thread where you've labeled him guilty without any proof. Cheers. I'm done responding to you tonight. You're too much my friend.

Now that's an idea.

Yeah I know. That's why I told him that. The irony is I heard a few things about something the other day and went into a thread to ask about it and he chastise me for asking. He was the same on the other forum I remember when he joined. I could laugh with him for a while but after a while it got a little too much.

Yeah again I don't do TV and I don't find the CBC to be very cultural especially to Canada lol

This is from 2019 but feel free to refresh it for any of these names that are still active. This list is compiled by Campaign Life Coalition.

So is it four? Or is it the list that's underneath? Because of it's the list that's underneath they would have passed it in the house when they were in government. You damn near have enough votes to make it happen through a private member's bill.

I would be more than happy to investigate this a little bit more but I would need more literature to go through because I find this to be skeptical because the way I see it they would have the votes lol which to my understanding they have never had the votes so I have a hard time believing that's factual

Well, I think I was talking to you at the time.  (it's the wife's birthday and we have been imbibing. Couldn't help myself.)

Alf can come on strong.   But I think you can too.

So because you don't means everyone doesn't?  The CBC and the content it creates are the basis of some of the strongest connections I have with people and with my country.  And I know there are tens of millions like me

Now you’re being passive aggressive. Like you’re a victim here. You made an assertion about Jack Layton getting a “rub and tug”.  You were asked for evidence. Your evidence proved your statement false. Do you have evidence to support that supposition? If not then just recant.

I'm not mad at him at all. It's the same old nonsense time and time again with him. I think you have me pegged all wrong. I'm never angry. If you go through most of this thread it's me that gets attacked personally for not sharing the same opinion. Have I done some attacking? Sure I have but it's usually in response. In fact I would invite you to show me where I've attacked somebody first personally.

Actually, before you throw a number down, you should actually Google what the ratings are on any given day. You might actually be surprised.

I'm not being passive aggressive. I'm just putting up borders. You can be very annoying. I'm sure you've been told this multiple times. Again, he was at the house during the raid. That is factual. If you are having trouble reading it, get Mrs. Alf to read it to you. Now please I'm done with this. It was nothing more than a joke and I'm certainly not playing the victim because I don't even know how that makes any sense right now. But then again most your posts don't make any sense.

Sorry I will edit to add that the entire list underneath is candidates that Campaign Life Coalition says are “fully supportable.”

It’s their list of candidates they endorsed  (1 in 5 ) in the last election.

Oh are you able to post candidates who actually said they were pro-life? Because I don't know anything about campaign life coalition. Like are they to be believed? Or is this just more of tell them what they want to hear but not actually support it? I mean that doesn't make things better but I just wonder are they just kind of a stupid group that politicians play to get their vote?

Oh lord,  I'm not going back through this thread.   To be honest I try to stay out of it but it pulls like a magnet.

BTW - (I think) CBC is an essential service and is likely to remain so for decades.  And if/when it goes I hope it evolves  rather than dies.
