Was really affordable, I think they ran about $120 but you can feed 12 people off that thing easily.

And then you can cut it to the thickness you prefer as well! Nothing worse than a bunch of random thicknesses when buying it precut

A great steak is actually one of the easiest things you can make if you have some basic gear.

Bure_Pavel
2 hours ago, Johngould21 said: I’m in Honolulu at this moment. Prices are a lot higher here than in Vancouver. Bananas are as high as $1.59 USD per pound for example. We found a store that sells them for $1.00US. However, we are costing our home cooked meals at around $3.00 each, and we’re not scrimping on anything. Costco, and Sam’s Club for quantity, and a Chinese market for quality, fresh produce and fruit. We treated ourselves to brunch at the Kahala Mandarin Resort yesterday, and for the price, $57USD per person, it wasn’t as good as we’ve had in past years. But, the place was packed. The Lido on our last cruise was much better than that brunch. The Keg is overrated. I like to see what I’m eating, and that prime rib isn’t anything close to what we can prepare at home. Prices in Hawaii should be a lot higher than Vancouver, its an island in the middle of the ocean. Its 4000kms from LA for reference.

Yeah but it is also a big export for them as they thrive in the tropical climate. Price of land is also skyrocketing over there, as the wealthy look to secure large properties for vacation spots. Also a time when the right to vote was dependant on the colour of one's skin, and homosexuals could be imprisoned just for being themselves. Yeah, that's one thing that jumps out to me when folks talk about the good old days. Good old days for who? Billy Joel sang "'cause the good ole days weren't always good, and tomorrow ain't as bad as it seems.". Sometimes you can't go back, in many cases it's best not go back. Sometimes if you want thing to be better you've got to build the better future in the present. Women weren't considered persons til 1929, couldn't open bank accounts without their husbands written permission til 1964, didn't make up roughly half the labour force til 1995, and couldn't vote in Federal elections til 1960. The right to vote in various provincial elections and the federal election for Indigenous Peoples with status gradually trickled in between the late 1940's and late 1960's. Same sex marriage wasn't a thing til 2005. https://www.canada.ca/en/women-gender-equality/commemorations-celebrations/womens-history-month/women-history-canada-timeline.html https://www.redcross.ca/blog/2021/3/over-100-years-of-victories-large-and-small-of-women-in-canada https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/indigenous-suffrage One could bring up things like the Chinese head tax and the Chinese Immigration Act, the Komagata Maru, and Africville. One could point to the internment camps, children being forced to attend residential schools, and the 60's scoop. One could discuss starlight tours, MMIW, and black and Indigenous individuals being disproportionally represented within the Canadian criminal justice system and their having more interactions with the police. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/bc-systemic-racism-police-1.6744961 There a lot of conversations one could have about rights, I'm barely scratching the surface regarding rights in Canada. But time has proven again and again that people are not all treated in an equitable manner, things aren't perfect now but they are better than they once were, the key is to keep pushing forward without undoing the progress that has been made. I don't know which Keg you've been to, but the one in Richmond which I frequent has really gone downhill with the Steak and Prime Rib quality. Steak is a luxury nowadays though, so I'll probably go twice a year if 2023 is of any indication.
