Transitioning to what? Like they thought they were Asian or disabled? Maybe they thought they were a dog or a cat?

I love my kids. I have no concern that my kids will ever come out as trans anything.

Not an answer. And yet an answer.

The prices were artificially high. But they were actually higher in the US and thats where are record amount of our lumber went.

Pierre vs Justin, I don't know what they would do different, I guess we will find out when it's election/campaign season and platforms are revealed.

I would have capped exports on shorted (although artificially) products.

Have we ever seen a Conservative Government embrace socialist policies like that? I have not.

He could. He also may not. Who knows? Not you that's for sure.

You have anger issues. Calling me an idiot because you don't like my opinions is pathetic. Go touch grass or something and stop acting like a bloody child

Wasn't even calling you an idiot - what the fuck are you talking about

Never had an issue with trucks pulling loads out of our yards, not once. In fact, it was the opposite.

Maybe they didn't want to upset the Canadian consumer that there was LOTS of lumber but they couldn't have any because Americans were paying way more.

Wouldn’t it make sense that if Americans were paying way more there would be a shortages? Trucks pulling loads of lumber out of your yards says more about demand than  shortages or pricing. The fact that home builders and condo project managers had to hire extra security to guard their lumber supplies spoke volumes.

‘It is a gold mine:’ Builders warned of rising lumber thefts across Canada

The Canadian Press  May 14, 2021

By Daniela Germano

The skyrocketing cost of lumber is fuelling a trend that has authorities across the country warning builders to keep their guard up.

Canadian authorities have been warning this year about the rise in lumber thefts, which has some people quipping on social media that wood has become as desirable as gold.

New homes cost $36,000 more because of an epic shortage of lumber

New YorkCNN Business —

As the pandemic crushed the US economy last spring, sawmills shut down lumber production to brace for a housing slump. The slump never arrived and now there isn’t enough lumber to feed the red-hot housing market.

The shortage is delaying construction of badly needed new homes, complicating renovations of existing ones and causing sticker shock for buyers in what was already a scorching market.

Random-length lumber futures hit a record high of $1,615 on Tuesday, a staggering sevenfold gain from the low in early April 2020. That’s a big deal because lumber is the most substantial supply that home builders buy.

Saw mills can’t keep up with demand

Today’s shortage has roots in the previous housing boom. New home construction crashed after the housing bubble popped in the mid-2000s. That made sense because the market was badly oversupplied. But the downturn also drove countless sawmills out of business, leaving the industry unprepared for today’s surge in demand.

And then Covid happened. Sawmills eased output last spring in anticipation of another bust and as they grappled with heath restrictions.

So just be honest, if your kid came to you and said that they thought they were trans, what would you do?

No idea, I haven't spent 1 second wasting my time thinking about it. I also don't know what I would do if they said they were a dolphin, a black person or a corvette either.

After re-reading I rescind my original statement.

I stand by my anger issues statement though. You need to relax.

So for starters, I wasn't even being that stern with you.  It's your fault you misinterpreted my message.  And you felt the need to insult me.  Telling me to touch grass and stop acting like a child?  You're gonna say that to someone and then tell them to calm down?

Beyond your comeback insults, don't tell me to relax when I'm seeing the hatred circulated by Poilievre's followers.  Fuck that.

You're telling me you and all your friends are hurting.  I fucking get it - I'm not a homeowner, just like you.  Poilievre has taken that anger of yours into political influence and he has been instrumental in turning the public against Justin Trudeau.  Poilievre is also injecting Republican style identity/division politics into his party and anyone who'll listen to him.  That system is now being propped up by not just the CPC but also multiple provincial governments across the country.

We are going to see kids get outed to their parents and denied the necessary care/treatment they need because the government is choosing to get involved.  Some of those kids are going to die from suicide because of it.  We are also going to see our most vulnerable die because Poilievre has adopted a stance against safe supply and has not promised any kind of treatment reform that's needed for this growing population of users.

So don't tell me to relax when both you and I are both upset with the state of this country.  The difference is that I'm more worried about what will happen if we let someone who uses an unprecedented level of misinformation and hateful rhetoric in charge.  His targeted social policies are going to turn people into a statistic.  What you are seeing is... a coaching analogy.

This doesn't equal shortages, it just means those builders were being shorted. Our yards are fenced, gated and secured. We had no issues. We were close to border crossings and that lumber was moving south.

Locals got some, but the yards were packed. Why sell to locals for $600 a yard CDN when you could sell it sound for $1100 USD.

No shortage, supply manipulation.

Sure, it means step away from the electronic device that you are messaging in this forum on and go get some fresh air, go for a walk, touch some grass or smell the flowers.

Thank you.  Usually works better when you're speaking English like an adult when accusing someone else of acting like a child.

Of course lumber was moving south because of soaring prices, product in high demand moves to the highest bidder; which leads to more shortages here and higher prices.

In any case while I appreciate your input I will defer to the Canadian Forest Services Publication.

Abstract

This note explains current high lumber prices in Canada and the United States.

Plain Language Summary

Lumber prices in Canada and the United States have recently reached record highs. Prices are so high because builders and homeowners are buying up very large amounts of lumber, and producers have not been able to increase production quickly enough to meet the demand. Consumers are buying lumber for new home construction and residential repair and remodelling projects. These activities started ramping up after the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic and remain very strong today. Despite high prices, it is not easy for lumber companies to increase production rapidly. They must consider a variety of market factors (for example, availability of timber and labour), as well as plan and carry out expansion projects. Lumber production in Canada and the U.S. has not increased significantly from pre-pandemic levels, and is not expected to before early 2022. High lumber prices are benefitting Canada’s lumber producers, alongside their workers and communities with sawmills. At the same time, they are difficult for consumers to manage. In Canada, market forces determine the price of lumber. So, supply must increase or demand must fall before prices will decrease substantially.

It really isn't.  He just thinks trans identity is fake and make believe.  There's nothing interesting about that.

It's really odd. They are no threat to anyone, but they act like people are kicking down their doors to turn them gay.

The interesting part is how firmly set the belief is , when none of it is based in real experience.
