This is a personal favourite question of mine.

Can anyone, ANYONE on the Pierre is the best option crowd show me where and who the last PM to take power was that successfully made everything cheaper, reigned in inflation and what that meant to the overall economy or what steps were taken to make it happen

I'll wait

actually the closest one to this description has been Paul Martin.... a Liberal

So spit it out. What are his excuses for all four of them?

After reading enough of your posts,  I know you can't handle other opinions, but that doesn't mean I'm a liar and spreading misinformation. Grow up

Face it you didn't do your homework and now you're getting defensive because you got called out on it.  You posted those four guys.  Explain to us why they took photos with Trudeau.  Stop using these dumbass images and explain in your own fucking words why.

Someone then posted that it's interesting that axe the tax freedumbers are praising Truduea senior who was Prime Minister during that period .... And just like that poof it was gone lol

I can think of 600 million reasons why the media is friendly to Trudeau, and they got another top up during covid. And how far left do you have  to be to think CTV or the globe and mail is conservative. Global too. That's just ridiculous

https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/600m-in-federal-funding-for-media-a-turning-point-in-the-plight-of-newspapers-in-canada

See?  Once again you are completely full of shit without any actual concrete evidence to back it up.  Completely ignoring the fact that every media bias checker places CTV and Globe and Mail to the right of center.

This is what is ridiculous about people like you who think they get away with spewing lies like this.  You are just wrong.  That's not even an opinion anymore.  It’s just a flat-out lie and I'm sure you'll keep trying to prove it.  Show me a media bias checker that places CTV or Globe and Mail to the left of center.  Just fucking try.

I'd recommend people do actual research to have informed opinions rather than relying on the media (funded by Trudeau's government) to give honest journalism

This is rich.   You want us to 'research' your favorite sources while deriding any other source.  Why assume other people's opinions are not informed just because you do not agree with them?

BTW - the CBC has been supported by all governments since its' inception.  Was it Harper's CBC 10 years ago?

But that's Pierres YouTube channel. How the heck is that independent research?

The data is literally from the Liberals themselves... I'm not going to bother wasting my time in this thread anymore so you can feel free to remain ignorant of these things. No worries, man.

Basically you always say anyone protesting Trudeau is far right or weirdos.  When in reality they're just normal people fed up with this government

The far right in Canada is anything but normal, it’s filled with conspiracy theories and intellectually stunted individuals

Well, you know, there are people here who believe that if you're not fundamentalist christian evangelist/evangelical and sit to left of ultra-/neo-nationalism, then you're a pablum-puking pinko liberal/socialist/commie that is only capable of echo-chambering.  :classic_rolleyes:

I couldn't help but notice that at least one of the Trudeau bashers linked opinion pieces from the National Post as a source. Pretty ironic to be slamming CBC as biased, while at the same time citing Canada's answer to Faux News as rebuttal....:classic_rolleyes:

If you are going to be ignorant at least provide sources. You may not like their opinions but they are NOT fox news. Jesus Christ some of the hyperbole on this site is wild

Again, I agree with nothing you said. There is no cult or hate farming. He stopped to talk to people protesting the carbon tax. That's it. He refused to take a picture beside the Trudeau flag.  The rest of it is just a complete overreaction. We seem to be going in circles here

Protesting a couple cents?  How ridiculous is this.  That money is going to be used to give people in the lower class  some rebates.  Personally as an upper middle class system I don’t mind paying a little extra if will help out my neighbours. On four hundred dollars worth of fuel it’s less than a Starbucks coffee.  The irony is a lot of the far right people I know what their 70k trucks, motorcycles, boats, rvs and then complain about a few cents.  The reason for inflation is not this and I’ll say it again, has a minuscule effect on our current inflation.  I have asked many on your side of the fence to tell me in their opinion what’s causing prices to increase.  Nobody has been able to actually provide factual information, they ignore the question or they whine about a few cents on fuel. So I’ll ask you this, do you know what is actually causing inflation in Canada?

That's fair. My mistake with regards to that (not that I inherently said that all media in Canada is government funded, but somewhat implied it). Nevertheless, CBC, the TV station that all Canadians can get, is heavily government funded

So you not realize how many Canadian jobs are created in the arts due to CBC?  They produce Canadian content, with Canadians doing the work on and off camera.  Are you saying this is not a good thing for Canadians?  To support our own?  Sounds pretty un Canadian to me!

Reputable news sources are going to report factually.  No argument to be made there.   Which way do their editorials and opinion pieces lean?

I agree there is much hyperbole here.   That too leans both ways.

Two things:

  1. You conveniently left out the Right-Center bias part of the report.
  2. Factual Reporting on actual news stories is one thing. Opinion is another thing and virtually all of NP's opinion pieces align with the Fuck Trudeau crowd.

...and "hyperbole"? How many times has Trudeau been called the worst PM in Canadian history?

Speaking of "ignorant"....:classic_rolleyes:

1. It's factual, so the bias is irrelevant.

2. Opinion is just that. Opinion. Don't like it? don't read it. Comparing them to Fox News though is a joke and your argument for justification is weak as hell

What the hell does that even have to do with what we are talking about?

Some things that would not have existed or would fade away without the CBC

The CFL.  Until TSN started it was only the CBC that aired games. TSN does a horrible job on the CFL as it's not a major revenue source.

The NHL. Today it's big bucks but for most of hockey's journey it was Hockey Night in Canada that brought it to viewers and it wouldn't have thrived without it pre 1980

Local news air time.  US and large private news media outlets do not give air time for local.news or affordable.commerical.time. CBC continues to provide both

Canadian talent exposure. Many iconic tv shows dear to Canadians would never be picked up by American tv - ever. Every generation of Canadians.had had iconic Canadian themed shows ... From Beachcombers to Corner Gas to working Moms etc.  Shows that are dear to everyone Canadian

On Radio we have northern communities that depend on CBC radio

To ensure french media the CBC provides that. Providing news and tv all across Canada in both french and English is critical to ensuring french Is not lost as being one of the 2 officials languages ..... Outside of quebec it's very limited french tv

If you say so.

From where I sit, NP opinion pieces look no different than Fox opinion pieces. Don't like it? Nobody cares.

I think the average person would probably say the same thing 🤷

And that's your opinion that you are entitled to have but trying to speak to it like it's a factual truth is where I have a problem. They are nothing like fox news
