So sad that we have thst many morans in Canada now. The morans have spread across the border. Sad time for us. As an old guy I’ll be fine. But I feel bad for the younger folk. Calgary-based AltaGas Ltd. and Netherlands-based joint venture partner Royal Vopak have approved a final investment decision for a large-scale liquefied petroleum gas and bulk liquids terminal project near Prince Rupert, B.C.

The decision to go ahead with the Ridley Island Energy Export Facility, or REEF, comes after a five-year environmental preparation and review process.

The companies say site clearing work is more than 95 per cent complete and the project is expected to come online near the end of 2026.

The capital cost of the project is estimated at $1.35 billion.

The first phase will include about 55,000 barrels per day of initial liquefied petroleum gas export capacity, including propane and butane, 600,000 barrels of LPG storage, a new jetty and extensive rail and logistics infrastructure. 

The facility will be built on a 0.77-square-kilometre site next to AltaGas and Vopak's existing Ridley Island propane export terminal.

In a statement, the Prince Rupert Port Authority called the final investment decision a "milestone for the Port of Prince Rupert as it marks the largest investment in the Port's history," noting it will allow for the export of liquefied petroleum gas, methanol and other bulk liquids.

Prince Rupert is already the third-busiest port in Canada, following Vancouver and Montreal.

Everyone needs to put their feelings aside and focus on our current economic outlook and our options of how to better the future. The liberals will have a decade of catastrophic failure by the election. You can no longer talk about what the conservatives did in a completely different landscape. If you can honestly say the country is better now then it was 10 years ago, you’re letting your emotions get in the way. Canada has land mass, a skilled workforce, and endless resources to supply the billions of people fixing to pop out of the 3rd world. We need conservative policies to take advantage of this generational opportunity. If we don’t, countries like Mexico and Brazil will gladly take our place. We will be fighting over lyrics in the national anthem, who uses what bathroom and fat shaming broke AF living universal income cheque to universal income cheque. Hard to read now as all is blurry after making empties.,Bit if you’re in any way supporting Zpoo Poi you need to open your mind to reality. Poo Poo will make your life harder. The country is not worse than it was ten years ago.  We were in unrecoverable debt then and are in unrecoverable debt now.

 

Canada does nto have the workforce.  Period.  That ie needs to die.  If we did we wouldn't have a housing crisis due to a backlog of houses that can not be built due to a retiring and non existent workforce.  Also, what policies.  People have been asking numerous times to point out these magical policies that will fix things but nobody seem to actually be able to point one out.

 

Only people with to much tie on their hands will care about what bathroom people use, lyrics of the anthem and as for body shaming ok.  These are all actually things that have concerned the Conservative party though so maybe you're right.

I can't believe I've been reading people arguing FOR continuing a race to the bottom, trickle down economics. As though Canada can or should be competing with who, Indonesia? Unions are the real problem?

It's a head scratcher for sure to see people trying to conflate Canada's loss of productivity in the work force to not being as competitive as places like Brazil, Mexico, India and for having worker protections.

Our cell plans have gotten faster and cheaper at the same time because we take the time to make sure that they do. Kinda my responsibility.

We need a conservative party that isn't trying to Nazify the country.  Replace Poilivre with a leader who is willing to behave the same as actual people  and we'll talk.  The damage that vermin like PP and the idiots who are making excuses for his plan to turn this country into an uncivilized shithole with his barbaric beliefs is simply not acceptable.  His supporters need to stop listening to the hate speech that comes out of his mouth and realize just how badly they will destroy this country by electing this worthless piece of shit.  The only place Poilivre belongs is in prison for the rest of his pitiful excuse for a life.

That’s weak sauce Ricky, you’ve spent more time complaining about it than it took me to get Telus to make my plan $20 cheaper and increase the the data to 200gb unthrottled. Last year the wife spent 30 minutes getting the cost of our landline (yes, we still have a landline) reduced from $25/month to 19 cents/month for 18 months and $1/month after that. 
 

$500 per year saved with two calls that took approximately 1 hour combined.
