People here can be mad, but he's better suited to playing center. With Petey and Miller here that wasn't an option. Plus, he got more to play in a more ideal situation. Don't blame the guy. He'll do well alongside Pasta. Might even win the Selke there.

He should def be better in Boston imo, he'll be their go to center and he'll be getting premium minutes with Pasta

I'm skeptical of how the contract will age but that's Boston's problem now

The second part applies to most free agents. But at least it's not Tanev's deal. I dunno if his body can handle playing at a 4.5m level when he's 38-40. To his credit, his final year here and beyond he's been very healthy. But he still has those question marks cause of how he plays the game. Lindholm I think will age about as well as Bergeron imo. But time will tell. Anyone can get injured and it can make any deal age horribly. Never want to see a guy go down like that. So fingers crossed for Tanev and Lindholm.

I dunno if Lindholm's offense will hold up as well as Bergeron's, I'd guess that it doesn't, which doesn't mean it'll crater. But he brings the other intangibles.

Tanev is a head scratcher, my guess is that he's actually committed to playing that long and both sides expect that he will. But yeah, he's been more durable since leaving Vancouver. By the time Toronto gets to those last few Tanev years the cap hit may be inconsequential due to cap jumps though, he may be overpaid but the context may impact just how overpaid.
