I think he’s just for depth, kinda like when we signed Matt Irwin last summer. I don’t think he will play a lot of games for us.

I doubt it. He's the new Cole as far as I can tell....

Oh boy... we'll see won't we.  2nd most minutes on Boston's PK... but ok then.

What?

Lindholm, McAvoy, and Carlo had more PK minutes than him. Then you had Peeke who averaged more PK minutes, if he played a full season with Boston.

At 1.2 mill, he can't be that bad. Cole was terrible in the playoffs, so maybe this will skew my optimism.

Disagree. He was fine against the Preds. The Oilers' speed exposed him....

What?? Peeke averaged 1:44 in 15 games with the Bruins this past season. Forbort averaged 3 minutes per game in 35 games.

Cole replacement.

He's more than a Cole replacement because Forbort actually is tough and fights where as Cole didn't have that in him and I feel like Forbort is better net front and gets around a bit better.

Forbort will help with the big physical loss of Big Z.

Forbort didn't play a full season due to injuries.  Not because he sucked.

Before going under the knife, Derek Forbort became a prime target of scrutiny from some of the fanbase.

Working through a nagging lower-body injury, Forbort’s defensive production took a nosedive during his third season in Boston. Upon returning from his first absence out of the lineup, Forbort saw himself on the ice for multiple goals against at 5v5 and the penalty kill.

His reliability in front of the net and stout shorthanded production became sore spots as the Bruins struggled with their net-front coverage and game-management mishaps coming out of the All-Star Break. On March 8, the struggling Forbort opted for surgery to repair his lower-body ailment.

Forbort has averaged over 3 minutes per game on the PK in each of his last 3 seasons with the Bruins and led the Jets in PK time played in his only season with them in 2020/21. He regularly played over 2 minutes per game on the PK in his time with the Kings as well.

There's clearly several people on here that don't know Forbort at all.

Or you can do research yourself.

All the analytical stats says, he’s a depth defensemen. Look at his puckiq page.

He cut his ankle in game 2 against the oilers. Had a ton of stitches in his boot. Makes it extremely painful to skate.

People are mad about Z, therefore everything else done today must be shit.

I’m pissed about z still but I’ve liked the forward signings. Debrusk a little too much but expected. The defence isn’t great yet though

You do you.  Blaming a guy for lower analytics due to an injury that needed surgery is pretty telling.
