Not sure about this one.

2M on a giveaway machine who had trouble keeping his spot on a thin Oilers blue line. Size isn’t everything.

Late bloomer who has only played 1 full year and is already plays PK and has respectable even-strength numbers.

It sounds like the coaches and VD both feel he has another step to take.

It’s a two-year bet. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

It’s not how you use your Big D, it’s how much you can consistently smash the opponents.

It’s not about how big your D is…

it’s all about how to use it…

Oilers fans seem sad that he's gone. Take that for what it's worth.

Character guy that sticks up for his teammates.

If Foote can get Myers to simplify his game and be effective hopefully he can get Vinny too. Definitely a guy that has taken the long route to the NHL and worked hard for everything he has.

Also hopefully he can share secrets from the Oilers pk. How were they so good with such an average group?

Remember when our PK was weak?  I do.  Now it isn't weak anymore.  DeBrusk, Forbort and Desharnais are all great PK'ers.

Hughes      Hronek

Soucy         Myers

Forbort      Desharnais

Our defence is actually BIGGER now than last year.  It's the biggest defence in the NHL.  Wow.  This is exactly what Tocchet wanted.  Add D-Petey and Willander to this defence and we are set really...

And by Tocchet's own admission, prolly our best D-penalty killer is on the sidelines....  Juulsen

They know the path to the finals likely goes through Edmonton for some time to come.

Better have a good pk because we all saw the special treatment they get.

Oh boy. I hate this signing.

Hope and pray im wrong.

in Foote we trust.

I love what he did with Myers, and I don't think Desharnais comes with as much chaos.

With McGroarty wanting out due to no pathway and allegedly Brzutewicz wanting out for similar reasons, were Forbert and Desharnais the targets as they don't pose any "threat" to Willander?

When PA talked about VD he mentioned VD talked with Foote about how both feel he has another step to take.

one huge difference from previous regimes is the number of times we hear guys in interviews talk about knowing their jobs and roles. I have no doubt that the new d additions to day will know exactly whats expected of them.

Perhaps but they were also limited with cap space and used most of it on forwards.

We kind of had to choose forwards or D to seriously upgrade.

VD it seems they are taking a bet on. PA said VD/Foote talked and both feel he has another step to take. Last year was he first full season.

I thought we made fun of Desharnais for being a big guy that doesn't bring much else. He was used sparingly this playoffs and sheltered which isn't saying much on a terrible oilers defence corps

Wasn’t he injured at one point?

This is the only signing so far I'm iffy on. The rest have been quite solid.

Heinen and Sherwood were great moves

Debrusk is a way better fit up front than Lindholm

Bluegar proved hes a very capable 3C with joshua and garland

our forward group is much better today than we were in the playoffs

its the Defense that im not thrilled about

Still think they’re waiting for some bargains.

Schultz? POJ?

Same one injury and we might be in some big trouble.
