Popular Post Elias Pettersson
Remember when our PK was weak? I do. Now it isn't weak anymore. DeBrusk, Forbort and Desharnais are all great PK'ers. Hughes Hronek Soucy Myers Forbort Desharnais Our defence is actually BIGGER now than last year. It's the biggest defence in the NHL. Wow. This is exactly what Tocchet wanted. Add D-Petey and Willander to this defence and we are set really... Looks like we're going for quantity over quality. Foburt, Juulsen, Desharnais, Shades of Benning and his bottom 6 signings... Loading up on less talent and leaving big holes unfilled You need depth, injuries happen quality depth over Zadorov and some guy

Popular Post Captain insano
To everyone crying about this signing (same crowd that hates every move) remember how awful Myers was before Foote and gonchar and how lost Z was before Foote and gonchar, why is our fan base such cry baby’s we have a good team that just added a 6 foot 7 dman to round up our bottom pair from a team that just went to the finals, if he didn’t get banged up he woulda played all of the finals 5

He's played just over a season worth of games in the NHL and big guys like him seem to take longer to find their game. Most intriguing signing for me, looking forward to hopefully watching his game evolve. Juulsen is going to need to step his game up if he wants to take Myers or Desharnais out of the line up. I think the Canucks are trying to emulate the Florida method where you rely on depth and having your best players perform when it matters most. They took steps last season but there’s a lot of room for improvement. I mean let’s be honest the panthers D last season was full of good not necessarily great players (OEL was manning the PP). We have Hughes and Hronek and a bunch of sturdy stay at home types I think that’ll suffice just fine. 3 3 1

The TDL will be very interesting as we will likely add more firepower. 1 1

Sharpshooter
Faith in Foote and Gonchar. Both specialists in their own rights. They’re the Clark’s of Defenicing. In them we trust. In Allvin ‘we’ trust. How was last year? Bad or not bad?

Thanks, looking for size and weight but yes definitely a big D Rumor has it that Foote is scouting this guy, 320 lbs and the deal breaker is if he can skate backwards.

It’s a big punishing D.. got to like that imho at some point in the next couple years they need to add more offence in the second pair. Either a transition player with great passing ability or someone with a cannon from the point.

Dhaliwal mentioned earlier this week that the Canucks were interested in Hakanpaa. Would have been for that big, physical 3rd pairing RHD spot, which they ended up settling on Desharnais for instead.
