Don Brodka Jr
Player Development is probably a more suited role for Burrows. It always surprised me that he was elevated to work behind an NHL bench so quickly after retirement. You have to think had he not been from Quebec/French speaking the opportunity most likely wouldn't have presented itself.. Probably a bit in over his head at that level. Again, same French speaking organization. Had he not been French Canadian does that opportunity present itself? Most likely not. The dude had terrible character. I know he's loved on these message boards/within the fanbase but the guy was a well documented douchebag. I don't see many other organizations fighting each other to bring this guy into their fold.. Vancouver especially. He just never struck me as a guy that would make a great "X's & O's" bench coach. 3

Quite a few players came out and said Alex Burrows was an AWFUL human being to them. It's all documented. Patrick O'Sullivan said that Burrows brought up how Patrick's Dad use to Beat the fuck out of him when he was a child .. During an AHL game Burrows told O'Sullivan that "He would beat him worse than his dad did" Which Burrows later admitted he did say to get an "Competitive Edge".. Jordan Tootoo said Burrows made comments about his Tootoo's brother's suicide.. Again Burrows excused it by once again as "Competitive Edge" He was suspended 10 games while in Ottawa for a brual Knee attack on Taylor Hall.. I get it.. He's LOVED here.. I like they guy myself. I have a Burrows #14 Jersey.. But he ain't no angel..

"Oh wah" To a guy making fun of your brother who struggled with his mental health and killed himself? really? "Oh wah" to a guy making fun of a 10 year old kid who got his ass beat by his much older/stronger 30+ year old father? really? How come not every player that took the ice made those comments? To be honest with you.. That speaks more to your character Bob Long than it does Alex Burrows. Straight up gross dude..

Not quite sure what a professional career has to do with a persons character off the field Yah- comparing Burrows to a guy that likely committed a double murder. Definitely a 'you' problem. Have a great day. I'm out of here.
