JohnnyEhGiver
Buffalo summer update: After a mysterious month long hiatus. Where GM Johnny was last seen leaving the Buffalo Chophouse in the wee hours of the morning accompanied by Aaron Rodgers, Sting, Ron White and several others. The GM was finally present once again. The Buffalo Sabres had called a snap media only press conference for this morning to which Johnny showed up surprisingly right on time despite his stunning resemblance to Di Caprio after landing the helicopter in the Wolf of wallstreet. After a very mind bending press conference that would have left Ilya Bryzgalov inspired the following key information was deciphered from today’s presser. However no clear explanation as to where GM Johnny had been for the past month was ever given to the media. Johnny was however spotted talking with local authorities as to his disappearance over the last several weeks shortly after the presser transpired. Gator
Vancouver Canucks Update Vancouver still needs to fill out some depth, but feel very strong about the team we assembled heading into the season. We may have finished dead last, but with some free agent additions, and some youth coming up we feel we could possibly see ourselves fighting for a playoff spot this season. A lot would need to go right, but it's not too far from reality from where we're sitting. Nemec & Jiricek will be a big boost on the back end. They will join another young defender in Zellweger. All 3 could see big years this year if things go good. We also stole a couple players from our division rivals, and defending Champions VGK in Kopitar & Duchene in free agency. We had to pay up, but they will bring a much needed veteran presence to this young group. We know Jack is thrilled to have those 2 join the team. Jack also got himself another skilled winger in Drouin. We love what Drouin can bring to the club. If we can get ourselves into the playoffs he could be a vital piece for us to try and make a deep run. Some young guys that could also make the jump this year include Askarov, Goyette, Dumais, Raty, and Nadeau. A few other promising young forwards, but feel the rest are still atleast a year away from competing for a spot in the big. We likely wont make any drastic trades year 1, atleast until the TDL. We will see how things play out. We expect to see improvement, but likely won't be shipping out any futures for short term gratification until atleast next offseason. All depends on how things shape up between now and the TDL. LINEUP J. Drouin - J. Hughes - M. Duchene L. Couture - A. Kopitar - R. Strome D. Holloway - ?????? - ?????? B. Tanev - ?????? - A. Nylander O. Zellweger - J. Petry B. Chiarot - S. Nemec ?????? - D. Jiricek C. Murphy J. Binnington Y. Askarov Strome, Murphy, Petry, and Chiarot are available for trade. Gator
@NMHockey been a while since I heard from you on here or discord. Hope everything is good man. Hope to hear from you before the freeze ends. If not we may have to seek a replacement GM after the freeze as ANA needs a bit of work before the season begins. Also we may be in need of a temp GM for SEA for the 2nd wave of FA. If there are any EASTERN GM's out there willing to take on the role please lmk, and if they have no GM by then you'll be able to make some needed short term deals for them to help them fill out roster and remain competitive as we search for a new GM. Gator
Seeking Volunteers For Agent Duty I am hoping to add 1-2 agents to the agent roster to help lessen the workload on the 2 UFA agents now. I am hoping to solely focus on RFAs/Extensions when the 2nd wave begins, but wouldn't feel comfortable leaving the 2 current agents @Rick Blight & @PeteyBOI with 50% of the workload each. There is an agent group chat available to help the new agents in the early going, and during tough decisions. So if it sounds a bit overwhelming just know the help will be there every step of the way. Also you can take on as big or as small of a workload as you want. Appreciate any and all help. Please don't feel the need to volunteer. I feel good with what we have in place now, but if I can find 1-2 guys I would be able to put all my focus into the RFAs/Extensions, and not need to worry about leaving the volunteers with too big of a workload. Cheers!
Gator
2nd Wave Of Free Agency For the 2nd wave of free agency (beginning September 15th) players will remain in phase 1 for atleast 5 days until September 20th. After that players agents can progress talks into phase 2. GMs cannot submit offersheets until September 22nd. This is to give GMs a chance to extend their RFAs before they get a chance to be offered contracts by other clubs. I kind of put RFA talks on the back burner when free agency opened up, and feel this is the right thing to do to give clubs a fair shot to extend their RFAs. A player can decide to sign a deal while in phase 2. Players only enter phase 3 if the agent feels it would help the player get more $, or it's a close decision between 2+ clubs. Players with 1 offer will typically wait until they gather more interest, but if the agent feels they have a more than respectable offer they can enter phase 2 with just 1 offer. When a player enters phase 2 they must wait a minimum of 24 hours before agreeing to a contract offer. As long as they heard back from all interested GMs, or gave them atleast 72 hours to respond. When a player enters phase 3 they can sign a deal at any time. As long as they heard back from all interested GMs, or gave them atleast 72 hours to respond.
