Could it be more like he played 6 games that looked good and then the fans here started overhyping him like crazy (over a 6 games performance); and then he played back to his normal skill level during last season? Could be that instead. Similar to the Canucks making AHL callups look like Vezina candidates. Once there's a scouting report at the NHL level, these guys get exposed more often than not. Martin has played 38 games and has a 3.62 GAA and a .885 save % (and that includes the harsh year last year). Hope the best for him to get a chance to win a back up spot and regain his opportunity in the league. He's in a good spot to do so, and given I think last year his numbers were an aberration (he's a better goalie than that), he should be able to.
