Supreme17
1991 CRX SI ( Project, never got running, sold ) 2002 Mustang V6 ( Auto , but also may have been the most reliable car I have ever owned ) 1993 Civic SI Hatch, Manual, Turbo, Frankenstein B18 with B16 Head ( V-Tech FTW ) 1989 Chevy Step-side Z71 Reg Cab, Manual, 350 V8 ( Traded the Civic for this as the motor was going lol, my Dad still drives it to and from work 13 years latter ) 1993 CRX SI, Manual, Turbo B15B ( Made over 200HP ) Fully restored with body kit + all the usuals. Sadly got rear ended and was written off. 1993 Mitsubishi VR4 3000GTO, Manual ( Twin Turbo Fun ) - Manual. Sadly had to sell after transmission went and it was cheaper to move on from it. 1994 Audi A4, Auto ( Bought for 1k, sold for 600 after electrical issues starting happening after 6 months of driving it ) 1992 Skyline GTS, Manual ( was living in Australia so RHD ) 1985 E30 BMW 325 Coupe, Auto, which was nice when the wife and I did a 7k tour going from North Queensland, all the way to the Great Ocean Road and back to North Queensland again. 2014 Kia Soul, Auto ( was a decent car until the motor went 10k after warranty ended, never again Kia ) 2002 Mustang V6, Manual this time haha, bought for $999, sold for $2500 a year latter and all I had to do was a wheel bearing and a battery. 2005 Dodge 1500 Crew Cab, Auto 2015 Audi S4, Auto, but the 6 Speed DSG in my opinion is actually superior to the manual transmission in these cars, MOAR POWER BABY ( to the road that is ) 2023 Volkswagen ID4 ( Current car, even though its electric I am actually enjoying it allot, even after moving to it from the S4 ) In a year or so I plan to start hunting for a E92 335XI project car I can start work on. The grey one is a 5-speed, but both the blue ones are six! I was glad they put in a CVT into the WRX back in the 2015 model year, because I otherwise wouldn't have been able to drive one even if I purchased it. I'm now exiting the "extended warranty" period of my 2018 WRX (black) and only last year took it on its first official road trip - to the west coast of Vancouver Island. Loved how it took the curves, but definitely a bit more power than I really need - and I wouldn't have it any other way. 2

ABNuck
I'm over 75+ vehicles so far (I'm 60)...mix of street vehicles and race vehicles of different sorts (circle track, drag race and rally vehicles). My first was a 1974 Mercury Capri (the Euro model) which me and a buddy dropped a 383 Chrysler Big Block into...never saw the street but man the smoke shows that car could do! We were 14 at the time. First official vehicle when I had my license was a 1972 Ford Maverick Grabber 302. Weirdest part of that story was that my buddy had the same year Mercury Comet GT 302...my key actually worked in his car...made for fun times at parties (DUDE! Where's my car!) Car I wish I still owned...hmmm...wish I still had my 1970-1/2 RS/SS Camaro with split fronts...I think it would be worth a ton of cash today. My 1974 455 T/A would also be worth a pile of cash. Most fun to drive was my 85 IROC 5.0 H/O...it was a rare car for the year...came with a huge 4bbl and 5spd instead of the new F/I with auto. I remember topping it out around 240kmh on the street (stupid kid)! I seemed to stick to Monzas and Novas for my drag race rides...except for this little 80-something Ford Ranger with a 460 Big Block (had to cut the frame to get it in), and mainly F-bodies (Camaros and Firebirds for the non-GM crowd) for the circle track (dirt 3/8 milers). For rally racing we did Jeep CJ's with small block Chevys (mainly 283 and 327 for high RPM bursts). Had some bikes (I prefer GSX'ers where-as my wife likes Ninjas...what can I say, she's a weirdo...) Had a pair of '67 Cougars (one was painted Red with the white "Starsky" stripe). And a '77 TR7 that was red with a white strip (I see a theme here). The one that got away: 1970 AAR 'Cuda 340 6pak...could have bought it in 1982 for $6000...not sure what it would be worth today but I venture to say north of 7 figures anyways. Overall...WAY too many to remember them all...but I loved them ALL!

Sadly cars from around 73-86 were so underpowered and slow by today's (or even 60's) standards but they were relatively cheap and easy to upgrade. I think the cuda would probably be in the 50-100k range depending on condition. Prices are down on many classics these days.

I think it is because restorations cost an arm and a leg these days ( Ive heard a few times..$30-$50k range for paint and full body work). It's unreal. Most shops that do classics are booked out for over a year( at least the ones i contacted). It was even hard to find a private ( cheaper) guy to do mine, I went through 4 before someone would take on the Dart (they all had multiple projects on the go)....Still, I had to wait about 4 months before they started. they have had it since April, may be done this month. However if a classic car is in great original shape and/or has nice upgrades then it can still bring a pretty penny.

There's a couple bangers in there. I still have the Miata, and it’s my favorite car I’ve ever owned. I have done a bunch of mods to make it sound, go, and stop really good and I can’t imagine something that’s more fun to drive on the street without going dangerously fast on public roads. My VW Sportwagen was heavily modified with a big turbo and did 0-60mph in 3.9s. I sold it a few months ago. I thought it would be my ultimate sleeper station wagon that I wanted my whole life but… turns out ridiculously quick cars are no fun for me. I couldn’t enjoy 3 seconds of full throttle without getting to impound speeds or potentially getting in to a bad accident. As they say, driving a slow car fast is way more fun than driving a fast car slow. The 2.5RS was my first brand new car and that was magical. Looked just like a Subaru world rally car and I absolutely loved it. The WRX was faster, but I never enjoyed it as much. The supercharged MR2 with T-tops was very rare and turned heads. I kind of regret selling that one. The two 240z’s were amazing. Some of the best looking cars ever to come out of Japan. Ultimately, I never really felt safe pushing them and actually nearly died in one on Sooke Road. A telephone pole caved in the side of the car about 6 inches behind my head. Also near the top of my list is my recent purchase of an old F150. Damn, trucks are so handy and I can see why so many people drive them. There’s just so much room for hauling people and all your crap. Plus, you feel like the king of the road and like you can go anywhere. And because it’s a bit old and beat up I don’t care about the kids and dogs wrecking it. Moral of the story, everyone should have a pickup truck and a Miata

There's a Miata in town here with a blown Small Block Ford engine...I don't understand how it's street legal because the driver cannot see past the blower...crazy... I'm guessing by going SBF he was trying to emulate the whole small block AC Cobra. Me, I'd rather have a Factory Five Daytona (since they're more rare than the Cobras) and drop in the Blueprint Engines (they have a partnership with F5) small block 427. I know it's not the original style block 427, but at least the cubes match. The other Factory Five car I'd like to build is a GTM, but instead of just a plain old LS6.2 engine that they recommend (which is wicked fast in that frame), I'd like to go LSA supercharged...might be un-streetable but hey...fun track days! Highest example was $308,000 at auction. As for the HP, yes the mid 70's to mid 80's absolutely sucked the life outta car enthusiasts. But for cars built in the last 15 years not much from the 60's can touch them. I came across an article recently that published the 1/4mile times for a '68 Z28 vs a modern Toyota Corolla...the Corolla is 1/tenth of a sec faster (but WAY uglier). And one of my favorites is the 2005-2006 Pontiac GTO (made in Aussie-land under the GM Holden badge)...even the most potent 455 Stage IV GTO Judge can't beat its 1/4 mile ET (~13sec stock) or it's top speed (not even close...newer one tops out at 178 MPH...286 KPH!) Absolutely, although the times listed for most classics are hindered by the tire technology of the time. A 68 Z28 with modern tires is capable of sub 6sec times.
