My brother wrote my Jeep off, he had 'borrowed' it one snow storm. I have still to forgive him. Once I got my ICBC settlement ( totally undervalued my jeep) my dad said he would loan me some extra money to get a good vehicle. He had helped me fix up the jeep and was a bit pissed at my bro too. I went to the car lot with him and fell in love with a Toyota 4x4 truck. Perfect teen machine. He saw the Probe for a few k less. He made me do a test drive, it drove great...so modern compared to my Jeep. Dad mentioned about how it had a nice big back seat, they even fold down...you could sleep in here. He knew what he was doing... My libido heard him load and clear....sold. well thats a good reason. It's just such a weird name for car, it's like Ford couldn't decide between an alien abduction or a medical procedure. I think it was a 1929 or 30 model, he would have started driving on the farm around 1945 or so. My grandfather saved up for a Mercedes when he moved to Canada, an old '3 on the tree' transmission. Fwiw the probe was a cool looking car when it first came out. Companies were slowly moving away from the boxy style of the 80's and it was certainly one of the more affordable futuristic looking vehicles of its time. Too bad it was a pos. I do remember the Probe having a 'sport' mode. It was pretty quick, but my previous vehicle was the big Jeep.
