(Proposal) Van /Edmonton

Recommended Posts

To Vancouver - Adam Henerique 3m

To Edmonton - Puis Suter 1.6m, Tucker Poolman

Canucks new lines down the middle

Miller

Pettersson

Blueger

Henerique

Henerique is better suited for the 4th line than Suter and he has at least another good year or two left before hanging up the mitts. He brings toughness and is a proven playoff performer. Canucks also get rid of the Poolman contract.

Edmonton gets much needed cap room and a decent versatile player with a cheap contract in Puis Suter

This trade proposal makes sense from a few angles for both teams. For Vancouver, adding Adam Henrique solidifies the depth down the middle, giving them a solid, experienced option on the fourth line who can still contribute offensively and bring some grit—plus, he’s a guy who knows how to perform when it matters most in the playoffs. Moving Tucker Poolman’s contract off the books is a bonus, helping the Canucks free up some cap space.

For Edmonton, this deal gives them some much-needed cap relief. Suter’s versatility is a big plus—he’s a reliable forward who can play in various situations, and his affordable contract is exactly what the Oilers need as they juggle their cap situation. With Suter’s value as a flexible, low-cost option, this trade could be a win-win for both teams.

In short, this trade proposal could provide the Canucks with some veteran toughness and playoff experience, while Edmonton gains cap flexibility and a useful, budget-friendly player in Suter.

Having said that all that, I'd rather see the Canucks try and use their cap space creatively in order to bring in another legit 2nd pairing RD.

Would rather have the Poolman LTIR money later in the season to land a key depth piece that might put us in a better position to go further in the playoffs. It's not as important to lead the division from wire to wire than it is to be leading after the TDL.
