And a right-shot D would really come in handy. But when unrestricted free agent d-man Tony DeAngelo came looking to score a PTO (professional tryout) from the team, they simply said, in effect, 'thanks, but no thanks.' It was only two years prior, in his previous go-round with the Hurricanes, that DeAngelo posted a 51-point season with a plus/minus rating of +30. But a difficult year getting along in Philadelphia with the Flyers followed, leading up to last year's debacle. The distaste for the 28-year-old around the NHL has even reached a point to where he was rumored to be jumping to the KHL in Russia for this season. There has not been any official word of that signing as of yet. DeAngelo's past troublesome behavior has been well-documented.
