Not all posters here are Canucks fans. Some are Habs, Coilers, Flsnes and other loser teams’ fans. They have to live in those loser cities. Alf feels sorry for them. Imagine being stuck in Alberta! Sure he could have signed for more on a rebuilding team and been ventilated every night with crap defense in front of him. But what good would that do? Next offseason he’d be in the same place. Im sure management sold him on opportunity. Look how it worked out for DeSmith. Landed himself a three year deal after playing here. Hes gonna get a lot of games on a good team in order to boost his value for one last contract. And for the Canucks they get some much needed stability in net. Source that nobody else wanted him? Im sure there were multiple teams interested just not at the 2 mil he was making last season. DeSmith was also a goalie “nobody else wanted”. He turned into a solid backup for us. We don’t need him to be a world beater we just need him to provide support for Silovs so he doesn’t get thrown to the wolves.
