At very least, he’s also a 4th line call up option should we require that kind of personnel during the season. To call up a guy like Bains in the absence of another player, you have to play him in the top 6 to be effective. A guy like Blais is an idea 4th line call up or reserve because that’s his meat and potatoes. We still likely will have better options than him in that event so, like you say, it’s awesome to see this club have the depth it does going forward. The thing I really like is we also seem to have a group of players on our 3/4 that might get a look and some mins in the top 6 that might be way more effective than in years past Can we call him up? He isnt under contract with Vancouver.

Rick_theRyper
Keep this respectable and it's a win for this young group, at least we get a look at Ratu and Lekkerimaki again, and Sasson has been good too. Good game to let the D pairs get a work out lmao. Yikes. Little worried here but good thing it doesn't count for points!
Gurn
Hog-Raty- Lekkermimaki bit too much to hope the whole line sticks as a unit. Raty and Lek have done well enough to get spots to start the year- but I'm not sure Toch would have 2 rookies on the same line.

My guess is majority of our main roster will play Friday night. Heinen - Miller - Boeser Debrusk - Pettersson - Sprong Hoglander - Raty - Garland PDG - Aman- Sherwood Suter (since he played quite a few pre-season games already, I can see him given the night off for some rest, and give Aman one last look at 4C) Hughes - Desharnais Soucy - Hronek (moves up to play with Hughes at points during the game) Forbort - Myers Silovs (starts in goal for Friday because Lankinen is playing tonight) Lankinen IR: Blueger, Joshua, Demko Lekkrimaki will start the season in Abottsford, but I see him be a mid/late-season call up to booster the top 6 scoring and offense. Ideally when everyone is healthy by mid-season: Heinen - Miller - Boeser Debrusk - Pettersson - Sprong Joshua - Raty/Blueger/Suter - Garland Hoglander - Blueger/Suter/Raty - Sherwood PDG Hughes - Hronek Soucy - Myers Forbort - Desharnais Juulsen, Friedman Demko Lankinen If everything goes well, and we can pick up additional blueliner or third line centre by TDL + Lekkerimaki call-up: Heinen - Miller - Boeser Debrusk - Pettersson - Lekkerimaki/Sprong Joshua - RHC via Trade - Garland Hoglander - Blueger/Suter - Sherwood Raty: Raty will likely be in/out of the line up by the time we get close to the playoffs. I think in tight/tough playoff series, coaches often will prefer a more veteran/experienced players in the line up. And the team would be a lot deeper Hughes - Hronek LHD via Trade - Myers Soucy - Desharnais Forbort, Juulsen, Friedman or Hughes - Hronek Soucy - Andersson (via trade) Forbort - Myers Desharnais, Juulsen, Friedman Demko Lankinen Silovs If we can get Weegar that would nice. Hughes-Weegar Soucy-Hronek Deharnais-Myers That top pair could easily log 30 min.

Playing regulars with a bunch of scrubs against scrubs isn't going to help them game prepare at all. These guys are working on systems in practice. No one should be wasting on a penny on this. Spot on... Its more important for Tocchet to see, how his younger players fares, when having face tough opposition... PK and 5v5... He knows, what his regulars can do, this is his last chance to figure out, who to use on the main roster, and how close the rest is... Results are irrelevant... 3

Taphouse Canuck
Looks like the Oil are going with NHL forwards and AHL defence. Toc is obviously still undecided about some of the young players, so I think this is last chance saloon for most. Raty has surely done enough, but I don't see any young D making the squad. Obviously Toc sees something he likes in Bains but it escapes me. He works hard, but with not much production.
