Tough go to get that done! As long as there are upgrades, that should be good. It makes a difference. Have to keep pace.

Yeah, downtown is out of the question, imo. I thought they'd land at the Richmond Oval and adapt from that.

Keslers Ghost
Lots of things to like. Silovs was great. Hughes looked fantastic. Really liked Bains' determination on the boards. Edited October 5 by Keslers Ghost
Popular Post JamesB
Headlines from my point of view: 1. Fairly even game with a slight statistical edge to the Oilers, who won the "expected goals" battle. But the Canucks won on actual goals. The difference was Silovs. 2. Silovs was excellent. The one goal that scored was from a prime shooting area and the shooter had time and space (kind of the mirror image of Soucy's goal). As is often repeated, "most nights the team with the better goalie wins". That was true tonight. Would love to get Demmer back but feeling pretty good about the Silovs/Lankinen combo. 3. There is some injury-related uncertainty with Suter's status unclear and the news that Garland "tweaked something". Assuming that at least one more cut needs to be made, many people thought that Bains would be the guy to go. But Bains had other ideas and was very visible tonight. He made three nice plays leading to an assist on the first goal and scored a very nice PP goal. He was named second star, which was a stretch, but he did have a good game and will be hard to cut. 4. I have been high on Raty and many people thought he was a assured of a spot on the roster to start the season. But he had a couple conspicuously bad plays tonight, especially on the Oiler goal as he vacated the center of the ice after the losing the D-zone face-off, allowing Bouchard to just coast into a prime shooting position in the slot with time and space. He obviously has to make a play on Bouchard. Maybe he was confused about the assignments. His Corsi numbers were good (12 to 8 at even strength) and was among the best Canucks in on-ice expected goal differential but he had relatively easy minutes and probably did not help his cause tonight. 5. The PK was good. Forbert was particularly good on the PK. Unfortunately he kind of treats the puck like a hand grenade. That works on the PK but it limits his offensive support. 6. Hughes looked great. Petey's line had an empty net goal and a very nice goal on a great pass from Petey to Soucy. But, overall, Petey's line was only ok. The Miller line had some nice chances, including Boeser's crossbar. Good preseason overall. 2 2

Popular Post Hairy Kneel
I love that Forbert can negate that cheap ass loser darnell. darnell was scared of him. cheap ass turtling fake head. Man darnell is going to think twice before he starts his cheap hits like before. Forbert will improve with our coaches but his intimidation factor will help us a lot. 4

Popular Post spook007
Its pre season... I know, but..... man, this team looks legit.... Even with Demko, Garland, Suter and Joshua (last years strongest 3rd line in hockey) still to come, the team looks ready to rock... Myers looked really good together with Soucy, Hughes and Hronek looked as good as ever. (Hronek had a magic defensive play in particular), but most importantly and maybe surprisingly, the Forbort and Desharnais combination didn't look terrible... they looked like a pair you could get hurt by, and were both really good on the PK, which is perfect for this team. Up front Miller looked rusty and Boeser looked good (canon slightly off target). Heinen needs more reps with them, and while not standing out, he didn't do anything wrong neither (nice setup for Bains on PP). Petey didn't look vintage and he will need a few more games with DeBrusk and Sprong... Raty looked good, but the one player that stood out was Sherwood... This boy is gonna a be a fan favourite in no time... Ruutu like... the way he got under the skin of the Oilers was a thing of beauty. And all with the biggest smile on his face... A big shout out to Hogs as well. Played really hard... Overall this team is really starting to look like a Tocchet team, and it looks stronger than last years team.... We are going to have a great season coming up. PS. Forgot the most important part.... Silovs... He is ready to lead this team, if Demmer can't... The Coilers were 0 for on their six PPs including a 5 on 3. Unlike our great team, that is fantastic at evens, if the Soiler pp struggles (like you pointed out) they will lose. 1

There just isn't really a spot for him and I doubt they want to risk Aman on waivers.
Popular Post Mikeyman109
Having depth creates competition for spots. Its nice to see what having good prospects can do for a team. Bains Raty both have played well but there just isn't a spot for them if everyone is healthy. It would suck to lose one of them to waivers if someone claims them. Silovs has played well enough to start. If Demko isn't healthy let him get well there's no reason to rush him back. Lankinen is a good back up. It was nice to see Petey use the slapshot again even if he hasn't scored with it yet. For the big contract he needs to produce and better than just average. JT will get it going. Boeser too im less worried about those two. Love what Sherwood brings to this team. A missing element from last year for sure. Suter Joshua and Garland all out. wait til they all are back in.... Hughes looks like he is motivated this season to top what he did last year. Hronek and Hughes look solid. Myers and Soucy if they stay healthy can be effective for sure. I was pleasantly surprised but the Desharnais/Forbert pairing. they dont need to play 30 mins a game so they should be fine and add a little edge to the back line with Zadorov gone. Camp is over its time to move on to the regular season...Division champs again, lets get a better showing this year in the playoffs stay healthy and see what they can do. We got this.
