I see no one on that list worth a claim for the Canucks.

The good guys haven't been waived yet....have to wait and see what teams like NSH, CBJ, CAR, VGK etc do with their D depth.... IMO McWard is assigned as soon as one of those roster bubble players becomes available.

I really like Phillip Myers game I think there is much more to it, he just needs to calm down a bit, not very big on waiver wire sloppy seconds this time of year but with our current rhd situation I wouldn’t hate aquiring him

We’re already trying to get rid of one Myers and you want to get another?

Really too bad that none of our younger players (Raty, Podkolzin, Karlsson, McDonaugh, Rathbone) took a big leap forward this summer to try for a roster spot. They're the ones we need to become better if we have any chance of becoming a legit contender.

Also - Matt Irwin on waivers. Whoa!

He'll probably clear but maybe a team grabs him as depth

I think Woo and Rathbone will both get claimed

Doubt it, Rathbone may have value to an NHL organization but I'm not sure he's a player teams would grab and keep with their NHL group, he's reaching he is what he is territory imo

Best case scenario is he's moved via trade for another team's spare part in order to give him a chance elsewhere

Woo still needs to work on his game, other NHL teams have players in the same boat, I suppose a bottom feeder like San Jose could roll the dice on him

Lots of good players on waivers today. I'm betting all our guys make it through though. Very interesting to see Irwin on waivers though. If he's not our no. 7, then I assume we'll be having some younger guys as regular healthy scratches.

Yeah, we didn't really put anything spectacular on waivers imo

Woo's def a goner.

I wouldn't be surprised but I'm not as certain about it

Didn't @Alflives say that Woo was going to be partnering Quinn Hughes on opening night?

Waiting for Marcus Bjork to be waived...

We may not want to wait.... If say Rathbone clears, moving Rathbone for Bjork in a trade before waivers ensures we get him before ANA, SJS etc

I'd do that deal...

Hughes       Bjork

Cole            Hronek

Soucy         Myers

Brisebois    McWard

This is the best lineup we could hope for for opening night without making a major trade...

Yup

I'd be surprised if either Woo or Rathbone could be good enough for NHL time on any NHL team. I don't rate our defense as so deep that our waiver fodder is NHL quality.

Thinking more for bottom feeders that would roll the dice on developing these guys further in a no pressure environment.

Maybe hoping for Jalen Chatfield 2.0 I guess.
