PistolPete13
Worst case scenario. Salt Lake goes from having an ECHL team to winning the Stanley Cup within 5 years because of the abundance of draft capital that the Yotes have. Hopefully they will eff it up. Otherwise this fanbase will implode.

It's gonna really sting for Coyotes fans going forward if the Salt Lake ownership is actually willing to spend They're getting a better deal than they would from an expansion team A boat load of draft picks, a high end prospect pool, a ridiculous amount of cap flexibility, and an NHL roster that looked to be taking steps forward this season I would not be surprised at all to see them being a good team very soon

Roger Neilsons Towel
1 hour ago, Coconuts said: Sounds like it's really happening Sad for the very small amount of Arizona fans left, but very overdue. They tried playing in Phoenix, Glendale, and now in an embarrassingly small 5,000 seat college arena, and still can’t attract enough fans or get enough support to build a new arena. The NHL has been bleeding money keeping them there for years. Time to pull the plug on that welfare franchise.

farinush
SLC won’t be able to get a mascot in time so until they can find one, it’ll just be cutouts of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young placed strategically around the arena

A little too dated, so they might go for something more up to date like the Salt Lake City Swarm. This was my exact thought. The state flag already looks like a pretty killer hockey tarp - similar to the retro Colorado jerseys. Don't forget he also got the team temporarily locked out of Gila Arena (before being permanently kicked out) for owing $1.3M in unpaid city taxes. At that point Meruelo had already owned the team for 2 years. https://www.cbssports.com/nhl/news/coyotes-avoid-lockout-at-gila-river-arena-after-paying-over-1-3-million-in-unpaid-state-city-taxes/ Edited April 12 by Diamonds 1

iinatcc
19 hours ago, The Brock Star said: Well at least that would be significantly less of an embarrassment. The Abby Nucks play out of a University rink and it works well for them. If that was the case couldn't the ownership rename the Roadrunners as the Arizona Coyotes? At least Coyote fans will still get team playing in the same venue.
