He won board battles and was very rarely out of position. There's a reason why Green had him attached to the Horvat/Pearson line to shut down opponents. That line was almost always on the ice during the last minute of the game. Was Eriksson overpaid? Absolutely. Aside from that however, Eriksson was one of our most defensively responsible players and should have been a part of our 2020/2021 team. It's true

Agreed. What makes this even more damaging and proof that our legal system is completely broken, is the fact that this female accuser of Jake Virtanen told a very detailed and accurate story with regards to what happened. The story had absolutely ZERO holes in it and/or contradictory statements and the facts were as clear as day. The female in question was actually forced to spend the night with Jake against her own free will. This case should have been a slam dunk guilty charge against Jake but the lawyers and the legal system clearly were on the side of Jake. Bastards. All of them. TheGuardian
Marner loving how the chemistry is building on top line with Bertuzzi and Matthews BUT Tocchet likes 'We're more of a committee team': Canucks' Tocchet not concerned with line tinkering No building chemistry? Sedins, Luongo, Kesler, Bieksa, Edler, Schneider, etc., were all products of Burke and Nonis. Yes, Gillis brought in Erhoff, Torres, and Lapierre but a 6 year old could have pretty much done that. While people criticize Benning for his awful pro scouting (which is a fair point), many people often turn a blind eye towards Gillis' equally porous drafting. If you want to know why the Canucks got swept by the Sharks in 2013 after having beaten them in five just two years earlier, look no further than Gillis. In 2013, the Sharks had some new blood in their line-up while the Canucks were completely stale. In many respects, Mike Gillis was the most overrated GM in Canucks' history. While he deserved a very small portion of the 2011 (almost) magic, the lions share of the praise should go towards Burke and Nonis.....and Messier. Alflives going to be so upset with this statement. Hopefully he realizes your kidding.

Quantum
Geoff Courtnall was just hanging out in that limo with Scott Stevens, Neil Sheehy, and Dino Ciccarelli back in May of 1990 and didn't *participate* in the thing that happened in that limo and that's why he's able to be a Canucks Ambassador and buddies with Francesco Aquillini today. Edited October 7, 2023 by Quantum He obviously participated in it.
