And then traded our 2024 5th Round Pick for Lafferty. Essentially we got Lafferty for free. Not to mention that the only other times that Vancouver gave up more valuable draft picks was when they traded their 2024 2nd to shed Dickinson and then traded their 2025 3rd to shed Pearson-add DeSmith. That is the price of cleaning up the former management groups mistakes. It will take 2-3 years. But Rutherford and Allvin do value draft picks and know what they're doing. They have three Stanley Cups between the two of them. I have serious trouble understanding why the guy has such committed haters. He’s a very solid top six winger who is complimentary to the guys around him. His biggest problem is being injury prone but even with that, he’s got four 20 goal seasons (he’s only been in the league for six). the only thing I can gather is people expected him to be a perennial 40 goal guy based on his rookie season and they’re upset he’s never been that.
