What a statement game.

All these clowns on 650 and the other NHL reporters around the league marked us for death last night. Instead of us being carved up like we were last year’s game one with these guys, we did the butcher job. ALL the players knew the stakes and stepped up in EVERY regard of the game. Intensity so high that McBaby was fully contained and pressure was maintained from puck drop the the ending buzzer.

Very proud of these guys.

One game down, 81 more to go.

Ryan Gosling Clap GIF

Fuck yeah, brother! GO CANUCKS GO!!!!!!!!!

Demko has won every game where he's thrown up in his mask this season, if we can find a way to make him throw up every game we'll win the cup

every player who has asked for a trade recently is also on a minimum 82 goal per season pace. One is even on pace for over 300 goals.

time for every player to be forced to sign a letter requesting a trade before next game

We've won every game we've played against the Oil this season, if we play them every game we'll go 82-0

Would love to see Boeser put up 50 goals this year and get traded for a 3rd round pick. Garlund put up 80 points and get us a 4th.

Apparently there's some people that don't get the reference to the hatred these two have suffered

Hatred? What hatred exactly? Seems like someone maybe is conflating the use of the word.

And why exactly would a team trade a 50 goal scorer for a 3rd round pick?

That's Drance? I am shocked.

I really like the following excerpt from the article.

"They won handily because of an accumulation of small, disciplined, hardworking contributions from just about everyone in the lineup."

Ok has whoever kidnapped Drance given their ransom demands yet?

When the team plays like Drance has been saying they need to for a long time now, he sings praise, as he should. Last night was everything we've been missing for many years. Lfg.

Where’s that moron Drance now?? Did anyone hear his cringy take on this first game? How great the oilers were and they were thinking they could eliminate us in the first game by destroying us and  crippling our chances to have a good start, causing us to never recover?!?  What you got now you talking head?? Can’t wait to hear his 😭

I had mentioned that a few pages ago.  He needs to get some love for effectively a perfect “quiet” game.   Just did everything right and never had to resort to heroics because of it.

A mix of Suter & Blueger is the player I wanted Sutter to be and he wasn’t - these two guys combined come at a lower price and no assets to acquire. Tidy work by Allvin

I think most of the hate for Drance is that he says out loud the stuff Canucks fans don't want to hear.  How could a media member NOT be critical of the Canucks over the past few years... they have played terribly and had terrible results.  They have consistently been one of the worst teams in the league while spending the most.

Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean what he says isn't true.   He doesn't say things are bad when they are good, he doesn't say things are good when they are bad.

If the Canucks get steamrolled next game by an amped up angry Oilers team and completely forget all the process details Tocchet has tried to drill into them... he will probably not be super positive.

Disciplined and structured. Sticking to the staples. The young guns are maturing - Petey, Boeser, Hughes

I wonder if MIN is kicking themselves for not trading for Boeser.

Canucks laid a beat-down on a Cup contender. How good can this team be if they're healthy? (with Soucy, Mikheyev and Blueger)

Canucks have a killer tandem in net. Hello William Jennings.

Previous Canucks regimes we would see the Canucks get a lead and then sit back and try to defend. A collapse usually followed. Not the 2023 Canucks though. It was constant attack, but it was also responsible - Great defensive game.  I love this new brand of Canucks hockey.

This is the team folks. Buckle up. 🥳

Member that 1st and a prospect for Boeser? I think we'll take it? So..call me?

Anybody here a Morgan Wallen Fan? Are you familiar with his song "Last Night"?

Canucks 8-1 win summed up in a couple lyrics.

Oh, baby, last night we let our playing talk
I can't remember everything we said, but we said it all
You told me that you wish I was somebody you never met
But Mcbaby, baby, something's tellin' me this ain't over yet

No way it was our last night, you said you had enough
I can't remember everything we said, but you said to much
I know you packed your shit and slammed the door right before you left
But Mcbaby, baby, something's tellin' me this ain't over yet

I know you said this time you really weren't coming back again
But baby, baby, something's tellin' me this ain't over yet

 See you Saturday Edmonton.

The goals were great last night, awesome to see.  Biggest things for me were:

-Demko looked solid

-3-0 we kept pushing hard.  Lest year that game goes to 3-2 and often went sideways

-EP/Hughes are going to be playing fomajor awards this year

-Team D and tenacity was outstanding

-Ian Cole played the quietest 22 mins of outstanding D I've seen since Tanev

Yeah Baby!  That's the spirit.

We don't take no prisoners.

Never.

And if we do, there will be MANY Geneva Convention violations.

Mannnn if I had a half decent singing voice I'd love to write/sing Heavy Eric type songs and bring it back! Lol.

I can play guitar but I sound like a cat stuck in a dryer trying to sing.
