I think he plays more than a few games with the big club this year. Really like that Brusnevic guy too. I thought he was our best player game one. Dank
I really want to see how Kirill Kudryavtsev does. Bains and Hirose are like bringing ringers to your beer league team. They are far beyond this prospect tournament.

Mikeyman109
I think Wolanin surprises and makes the team. Although it’s more of an expectation than a surprise

sashimi
Juulsen will be good too but I'm not sure if that should be very surprising to most people anymore.

Although it’s more of an expectation than a surprise This shouldn't be a surprise. Third pair left D is Wolanin's to lose imo. He looks really freakin good out there. I'm expecting a big year from him. 75 plus games and 25ish points. I like Hirose a lot too but I just don't see him bringing more than Wolanin at this point. BabychStache
Hoping that Podkolzin finds his Power Forward game and showcases his draft position. We see it at times, but hopeful this season he takes the next step and solidifies a spot in the middle 6.
Optimist Prime
Not so much a Surprise, but I have liked seeing Johansson, Raty, Hirose, Bains and Klimovitch work together on occasion.

Provost
Irwin.... well, he will be a surprise through the pre-season I think. There is a huge jump between young D prospect and trusted NHL veteran. Tocchet has been preaching "predictable hockey" (meaning the team needs to know where the puck is going to end up next)... a guy with as many games under his belt as Irwin is going to know how to do that. The kids will get long looks, but at the end of the day, I think Irwin is in the top 8 that stays up for the regular season. He is only 20 and last season was his first in NA. He did decent as well. Give these children some time to develop.
