Gillis - Canucks and Panthers affiliation Benning - Canucks and Bruins + Medicine Hat Tigers Allvin - Canucks and Penguins. Popular Post spook007
Happy for Rathbone... he was done here in Vancouver. Just doesn't fit, what they want from a third pairing D. Doesn't defend well enough. Believe he's FA next summer, so we were likely always going to see him move along. Nothing to get too excited about. If Friedman ends up even just in the conversation for a third pairing role, its a huge win. The forward has got some size... time will tell... 1 5

Nucker67
Depth for depth Friedman gives VAN an extra D that can step in when injuries occur, and they will. Rathbone wasn't going to step into anything good here. Or does Friedman join the team right away? Hughes - Hronek Cole - Myers Soucy - Friedman Hirose - Juulsen

Rathbone is likely a career AHLer with the way he plays in his own zone.

DrJockitch
Hey if we get anything out of this it is turning nothing into something. Would be nice to scout another team other than the Penguins. Friedman certainly sounds like a better fit or our group as Rathbone was now what 6-8 on the depth chart for left D.

Rip The Mesh
I'd wager, Rick Toccet had a mighty big hand, or at least was a strong consultant in this trade. He sure don't win em all but we do have the need and Rick knows it... Edited October 17, 2023 by Rip The Mesh

Friedman probably falls directly under Juulsen. We can't move d-men right now without sending them through waivers (exception: Hirose). Despite his size, Friedman's got more NHL fight experience than Juulsen (3 - 0). Both super physical, but different styles.
The Brock Star
Solid depth moves. Glover is intriguing. Sad to see Rathbone go, but it was not working out here.
