Still room for Bellinger, just would rotate the DH around.  Jays still need 2 impact bats.  Not sure if Bellinger and Chapman would be enough...

If they can sign Bellringer, sign Chapman and maybe re-up Merrified, I think I would be satisfied. Trade Davis and Biggio for picks and we're looking alright. Espinal can platoon.

Not necessarily, but I know that this is definitely goodbye to Whit Merrifield.

it’s a good pick up defensively, nice guy. But way too much for a guy’s offensive numbers that aren’t MLB worthy.

yeah I see this as an upgrade on Merrifield and some insurance if they can't re-up Chapman. I think they'd love to have Chapman back, but he may want to head back to the US? dunno.

Yes, I’ve heard it’s tax related. But I was also reading this morning that everyone thought their market would be inflated due to Ohtani, (like Bellinger around 40m/year, chapman at 25-30m/year) but the market just isn’t there because the teams that could spend that much higher, have spent that that much already.
Yanks got their 40-50m guy in Soto, Red Sox aren’t ready to compete. Dodgers signed their 2+ traded for Margot+Glasnow.

that makes a lot of sense. I guess it will depend on what other trades are in the works as well.

I'd rather have Merrified but he'll be a much steeper price tag.
