Players to build around:

Bats - Vladdy, Schneider, Horwitz, Jansen

Starters: Gausman, Berrios

Bullpen: Pearson, Green, Richards

Everyone else should be traded. Get the rebuild started.

There’s no way Rogers’ shareholders will approve of a rebuild after spending 400m+ on renovations to the stadium.

I’m incline to keep Bo until next year’s deadline, since his value is at an all-time low, right now.

Not sure why Vlad would stay. The way this team has been mismanaged I'd want out asap.

I don't think it works that way.

He's said himself he wants to stay but understands it's a business.

been a bit since I looked at the standings:

Jays are 14 games behind the Yankees and Orioles for first in the division, and now 9.5 games out of the wild card spot. They have to climb over 5 teams to get to the wild card spot.

Royals 1 game out

Astros

Rays

Tigers

Rangers

Jays

injury list

July 13: SS Bo Bichette (right calf fascia strain) continues to make progress
An MRI revealed that this calf fascia strain slightly differs from the standard strain that landed Bichette on the IL for 10 days in June, but it's in a similar area. Schneider said on Saturday that Bichette is hitting in the cages and “feeling better." The team will continue to monitor his progress daily.

July 13: RHP Yimi García (right ulnar nerve neuritis) arrives in Arizona
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said García is arriving in Arizona following his rehab appearance with Triple-A Buffalo on Friday. He allowed two runs and two hits in two-thirds of an inning, but Schneider said the righty’s velocity was where it needed to be, and he “felt fine” after the appearance.

10-DAY/15-DAY INJURED LIST
RHP Yimi García (right ulnar nerve neuritis)
Expected return: Potentially before All-Star break
UTIL Isiah Kiner-Falefa (left knee sprain)
Expected return:
Potentially late July to early August
RHP Jordan Romano (right elbow impingement, arthroscopic surgery)
Expected return:
 Potentially by end of 2024
RHP Alek Manoah (right UCL surgery)
Expected return:

----

60-DAY INJURED LIST

LHP Brandon Barriera (Tommy John surgery, No. 4 on Blue Jays' Top 30 prospects list)

Do you want Atkins making trades or would you rather wait for qualified management to be making decisions instead of these idiots?

Unfortunately it doesn't look like Rogers will have the balls to fire him despite being more than deserving, so we're probably stuck with him for the rest of the year.

Yup, which means that this needs to be done in the off season in my opinion.  The damage that Atkins can do if you let him make trades isn't worth the risk.

"With no games to be played until Friday when Detroit comes to town to begin a three-game series and an all-star break that will allow players — other than Vladimir Guerrero Jr. — to decompress, the Blue Jays find themselves in this period of unease knowing just about anything can happen to the roster.
