Gurn
https://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/mlb/blue-jays-to-give-luis-de-los-santos-first-big-league-start-against-yankees/ar-AA1odzTC?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=93adc3d7ef414cbdbb123099a1b83d43&ei=94 " Luis De Los Santos will make his first MLB start on Sunday when the Blue Jays face the Yankees in New York. The multi-purpose infielder will get the start at third base and bat ninth as the Blue Jays look for the series win against the AL East-contending Yankees. De Los Santos, 26, has a .243/.393/.400 slash line in 28 games with triple-A Buffalo this season. The Dominican player made his debut with the Jays on July 31, coming on to bat in the eighth inning of a 10-4 loss to the Orioles in Baltimore. The Blue Jays continue to forge ahead with their youth movement, with recently acquired Joey Loperfido getting another start in left field, Spencer Horwitz at first, and Addison Barger in right field. Hot-hitting Vladimir Guerrero Jr., riding a 16-game hit streak, will hit from the DH spot.

UnkNuk
4 hours ago, runningback33 said: White Sox lose their 20th Straight From the MLB website: The longest single-season losing streak in MLB history was 26 games, by the 1889 Louisville Colonels. Baseball looked a bit different back then, to say the least. In the Modern Era (since 1900), that distinction belongs to the 1961 Phillies, who lost 23 straight. https://www.mlb.com/news/longest-losing-streaks-in-mlb-history#:~:text=The longest single-season losing,Phillies%2C who lost 23 straight. At twenty games, the White Sox are currently tied for third longest losing streak with the 1969 Expos (in their first season).

UnkNuk
White Sox lose to the A's. 21 in a row. They're now tied for second longest losing streak in the modern era with the 1988 Orioles. Their next two games are also against the A's so it's possible that they won't match the longest losing streak of 23 set by the 1961 Phillies. But, if they do, their possible 24th loss would be against the Cubs on Friday.

Wilbur
Can't believe the O's didn't even get a warning for hitting Vladdy. That was 100% intentional

Wilbur
Heard a comment on the radio post game regarding the Orioles hitting Vladdy and it makes me wonder if that team has what it takes to go anywhere this year. Because really, the Orioles should have bigger fish to fry than delayed retribution for a couple of accidental hit batters a week ago. They are focusing on the wrong things. RupertKBD
Watching that game last night...Dalton Varsho did it again.....crashing in to the wall to take extra bases away from Gunnar Henderson.... If the Jays do go into rebuild mode, I want them to hang onto this guy. The batting average isn't where you'd like it to be, but he's a lefty with decent power, runs the bases extremely well and is probably the best outfielder in the game.... How many teams can trade Kevin Kiermaier and not lose a thing in CF? Strangely enough, Varsho has never won a Golden Glove. The reason for that seems to be because he splits time between LF and CF and the awards are position specific. However, there is a Platinum Glove award, which is given to the best all-around defender. If DV doesn't win that one, there should be an investigation...

RupertKBD
Good example of how poor (or even average) defense can hurt you....Santander pops it up behind first, but Horowitz short arms it because he's worried about hitting the wall. Next pitch ends up over the fence in the bullpen....
