  1. 1. What Should Management do with the Flying Giraffe

    • Weld him up inside the nearest locker until the season ends
      4
    • Trade him for a dented spit bucket if you have do, just get rid of him
      15
    • Play him in sheltered minutes until the TDL and then flog him off for what may come
      52
    • Send him down to the ECHL / AHL and at least have a bit of cap space and bring up Hirose (or some other likely candidate) for the duration of the season

I've watched every second of Canucks hockey so far this season and I'm baffled at how negative our fans and media is.

We're 2-2 and had two good games and two bad games.

We won one game that we shouldn't have (game 2 vs Oilers) and lost one game where we should've gotten points (against the dynasty Tampa on the road).

We are a flawed team and this is a year where we are hopefully going to challenge for a wild card spot.

Enjoy the chaotic ride 😉

Ya honestly 2-2 is the best we’ve done in like 4 years so…

Definitely. He was way better his first year. Not 100% his second season here. And even if they decided a buyout, it was a much better option in a year or 2. Moving Myers and or Garland even if we had to add seemed like a way better option then the gross cap hits coming up in these coming years

Kinda damned if you do damned if you don't.

Bleed assets you'll likely need to build out your supporting cast and/or potential future core pieces in the coming years... or... take on some dead money.  I actually prefer the dead money tbh whether deemed premature or not. At least the cap is going up next year. Should allow the same level of total spending money they have now. But then you better hope you draft  and develop well if that means less  spending money for things like free agency.  That's kinda the trade off. And tons of teams have dead money on the books anyway so its not like we're the only ones.

And remember Myers on his last year. He's likely gone at TDL, maybe Beauvillier too.  Might still need that sweetener to move Garland but time itself somewhat takes care of some of the problems they have. Just can't improve the roster as you fast as you'd otherwise like to do is all. And to that I say thanks, pandemic. Thanks a lot.
