Now if Myers came out super angry, first shift, hitting everything he could get to, and dropping the gloves, and pummeling some poor schmuck, that might could set the tone.

Could you imagine?!

His ex has been spamming him w links to CFF posts about him so he just snaps and goes 110% Insanity Giraffe on every shift. Dominates all night except when he's in the box then scores the SO winner by deking Binnington out of his shorts.

CFF would explode!!

Meh, like I said I don't think ill change your mind. Your probably in the minority on this one though.

One of you should do up a poll thread. I'd be curious to see where forum community opinions land on this one

Let's go Canucks! Kick some ass.

After a Canuck wins a fight (I know, I know, enter your funny here:___),

They should play faint hauntings of Hair - Old, and Geeee No over the sound system, preferably Pink Floyd style.

Flashing images of Ryp dispatching discipline; heavy metal pounding.

Did it occur to you that maybe its an alien concept to you that a lot of Bennings signings post Sedin era was about experience? Not spending 11mil on a 4th line to have the best 4th line in the league, but to bring invaluable experience to the locker room? Seeing how the lack of experience surrounding the youth is no way to build up a team. Supporting our youth at the NHL level with cup winning experience, helps develop players at the NHL level. Much like when Gillis paid 5.6mil for a 37 year old Mats Sundin. It was about bringing in seasoned vets, guys who have been through all sorts of situations, for the youth to soak up as much knowledge and to also learn how they handle situations. Its short sighted to think Benning was trying to slap a cup contender together year in and year out. It wasnt all about just trying to win each year, it was about building mentally strong players who dont fold in the big moments, they rise to the occasion.

Gillis offered Sundin 10 million x 2 years ... so let's be real.   That's like offering a 37 year old Sundin close to 20 in todays money.   Thankfully he didn't sign that deal and only did the prorated version of one season...

This is bs because Benning spent all cap he had.
Experiance is cheap.

If Benning had ten mill to invest when he saw how good Petey and Hughes were he might still be a GM here.

Now he didn’t have any space and went desperate.

Lets pump the brakes there bud. Did he sign these experienced vets before or after QH and EP made their debuts? It was before. Then he saw how quickly things were turning around with our youths impact, so he went and stole Miller outta Tampa, added Myers, acquired Toffoli right before the pandemic froze the cap. No one absolutely NO ONE could have predicted how quickly two players would turn this organization around so fast. Petey and Hughes were game breakers the day they set foot on the ice with the team.
You look at how long it took Edmonton to become a consistent playoff team and STILL they are just barely consistent. Colorado took how long? TBL? NJD??? Lmao then theres teams like ARZ that is perpetually in the basement. Rebuilds do not happen that fast and for us to land an elite 1C and in a redraft hes a 2nd overall at worst. QH an elite PMD at 7??? He’d be arguably 1oa and at worst 2nd. How the hell was anyone to see their impact so quickly??
